Just thinking things through! What are the chances of buying DVC resale and being able to book for this October?

Claire ;)

A dangerous thing to "just think things through" ;) Once your offer is accepted it probably takes a week or so to get the paperwork organised, from there Disney can take up to a month to excersise ROFR and from there it might be another 4-6 weeks before the additional paperwork is processed and you are in the system.

You'd want to get your skates on as it might be just possible but look at it this way - if you didn't make it you could bank this years points and have double points next time

Lol Jakki my thoughts too! On the resale pages on Dis through the Timeshare Store it says 7 weeks from start to finish but would that include an International exchange?

It would do if you didn't hang around - they could fed-ex the documents to you and a bank transfer usually takes a couple of days to arrive - you'd better make that offer today ;)

Already making enquiries :)

Don't want to pour cold water on your plans Claire, but where would you be looking to stay? I only ask because your chances of getting a reservation at BWV or BCV for October at this point in time are probably slim to none. With the F&W festival taking place in October, the Epcot resorts fill up really quickly. You might be lucky and be able to get something last minute at SSR or possibly even OKW though.

To be honest any DVC would be alright if we could buy in time as at least it may save on accommodation expenses!

Claire ;)

We bought ours this time last year, and we started mid-August and it was all complete by mid-October, so if you are starting mid-July then i don't see why not. We were actually told ours took longer than normal.

I changed from a 2 bed to a 1 bed for the week of Oct 20 to 27 at SSR when I called about three weeks ago, so there was availability then. However, I also asked about availability at other resorts for the week before (I thought we might use the points we saved) but there was very little 1 bed availability, I think only SSR for the three nights I asked about or BWV (which surprised me) for two of the three nights.

SSR shouldn't be a problem, last year called in Sept for end Oct and could get a week there. BCV/BWV will be full due to F&W - how many abbreviations can you get in one sentence!! :rotfl:

Plans are on hold, but hoping to get them moving by the end of next week. If we do get DVC we shall only need a studio.

Claire ;)

Hopefully you can get something sorted out Claire:thumbsup2

just wishing you good luck :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
maybe it would be quicker to buy direct from Disney
