Availability at CRT, but not Cape May's?? Really??

I am looking to book a party of 7 for lunch or dinner Dec. 31 or Jan. 1st. I can get a table at CRT or even Chef Mickey's, but nothing available at Cape May's where I actually want to eat. We want the buffet there and have family with us who are not going to parks. Chef Mickey's is too loud. And I really want to be at the Beach Club! Annoying. When I want to eat at CM's, I cannot find a table. Same for CRT.

When did Cape May's become THE place to eat?

I am hoping its a glitch. I will keep trying. Thanks for listening to my vent.

I hope you can get it - we loved Cape May Cafe

We had this problem with Tusker Hosue for lunch, just couldn't get an ADR for the whole trip and then all of a sudden they opened up.

Have you tried booking a smaller party size to see if that's the issue?

I was playing the the ADR system yesterday as it is still a couple of months from my 180 day mark and notice something similar. I was able to find availability at CRT, Chef Mickey's and several othe signatures only 90 days or so out. But, I could not find anything for Via Napoli of all places. I know the popularity of restaurants tends to vary, but really? I would, however, expect some of this may change with the recently released FD - the higher priced ADR's tend to move when it is free.

A few reasons why that is probably the case.

1) CRT is 2 TS credits while CMC is only 1
2) Only those heading to MK for the day can eat at CRT, while anyone, those not even staying at WDW or going to any of the parks can eat at CMC.

I hope you are able to get CMC reservations at some point during your trip. It’s one of our favorite character meals next to the Crystal Palace!
