I had previously posted this in the Transportation Board, but no replies, so I figured I'd see if posting it here would be better.

We'll be traveling with an 8 yr old, a 6 yr old and a 14-month old this October. Going to be using the CARES restraint on the plane. Older kids won't need a car seat, but for the baby I'm curious about the availability of car seats in the taxis/vans that are staged at the resort. We'll be at AoA, I know we have to request a car seat when we tell the CM that we need a taxi/van but does anyone know what types of seats they use? Are they old, outdated ones or relatively new? As far as germs, I'll wipe it down with disinfecting wipes. I'm more concerned about the quality of the seat. I'm not comfortable with having him sit on our laps...on a bus it's understandable, but in a regular car/van I'm not going to feel completely safe unless he's buckled in (and the seat is installed by me or my husband) TIA!

Last year when we stayed at the Grand Floridian, it was a real pain trying to get a cab with car seats. (However, this was because I needed TWO.) I'm sure it will be much easier to find a cab with just one. The kinds I saw were newer, but flimsy- they were adequate I suppose, but nothing close to what I would ever buy. I don't remember the brands (each cab had a different kind of seat). That being said, I used forward facing seats for toddlers, the rear-facing that you will need for your 14 month old may be of better quality. I'm sure you will be ok needing just one. My advice is to sit next to your baby and to bring wipes so you can clean it before use :)

You're welcome- cars seats were a big ? for me last year (your post sounded just like me), so I'm happy to pass on my experience- have a great trip!
