Would we be allowed to ride a 2 person ride with one adult, one child and one 18 month old baby? We would like to do as many rides as possible as a family (eliminates wasting extra time to do a baby swap, and hopefully enhances the family spirit of our holiday), but that would mean one adult taking one child, the other adult taking 2. Anyone know if this is permitted?

You can do
Peter Pan (holds 2)

These should hold everyone
Alice
Snow White
Pooh
Pinochio
Casey Jr
Storybook Boats
Train
Dumbo

That's all I can think of right now

Peter Pan can do 3, we do it every time. DH, ds (9) and myself. Now when they put my Mom, my big guy brother and me on Peter Pan it was a big tight! But it still worked!

We also do 3 on HM.

Sorry - my original post wasn't very clear. The question I meant to ask is: Can I ride on a 2 seater ride with my 3 year old beside me and an 18 month old baby on my knee? She's really tiny - the size of a 12 month old. Or will dh and I need to do a baby swap?

I was kicked off Autopia, with my then-17ish month old, because he refused to sit on the seat. They insisted that he had to sit ON the seat, and he wouldn't cooperate at all. So off we went.

If you think she'll sit on the seat, try it. If you don't think so, don't.

However, I got odd info from that experience, b/c the CM told me that if he were UNDER a year old he could sit on my lap. However, others here have told me that children under a year aren't even allowed on the ride at all! I hope that someday I'll be able to check it out myself with an under-1 year old, but until then I have to go with the conflicting reports from Dis'ers vs the CMs in '05.:confused3

On mouseplanet's forums, there was a recent post about a mom of 3 usually being able to go on Peter Pan. Her, two toddlers, and a baby in a sling. But the CM woudn't let them do that on a recent trip, and the CM that reported in said that it's really not supposed to happen. BUT 2 small kids and one adult ARE allowed on Peter Pan, according to the CM on that thread, whose username seemed to indicate that s/he knew a bit about the CMs on Peter Pan.

On other rides, a lot of it seems to be up to you and your sizes, LOL. And there's a recent picture of the singer Seal with his two sons riding on Dumbo, so that seems to be allowed as well. :)

Thanks Molly,
you seem destined to be my Dis guru!:thumbsup2
No way could I trust her to sit on the seat, unless there was a real 5 pt harness seat belt!:sad2: And it wouldn't really help anyway, since neither of our boys is old enough to drive on their own, so both will need parents with them. So having her take up a seat would still leave one of the boys out.
Oh well, we'll have to do a kid swap on that one if both the boys want to ride.
On most other rides, hopefully there will be room for her to sit on my lap or right next to me without me being distracted! Yet another thing I will have to be prepared to 'roll with the punches' with....:headache: :rolleyes1

Can she sit up by herself? If so, just have her sit next to you. I'm not sure they allow lap sitting on some attractions. But a lot of the rides that she will want to ride, you can totally do 3 to a seat. I was at DL with 2 of my friends and the 3 of us (3 teenagers) fit into everything (Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion was tight, Mr. Toad, we could have fit in Buzz, but we each wanted guns)

I don't know about sitting on your lap, but they do let three go in a car on Autopia. Good luck!

We took our son when he was 14 months old and he always had to sit in the seat, no laps. I wouldn't even really be too keen on doing that honestly, seems safer in the seat.

Otherwise I'd probably just do the baby swap!

Perhaps if I squish her in between oldest ds and myself, she won't make a break for freedom (I assume most rides have some sort of restraint system?) She once wiggled out of the safety strap in a shopping cart and promptly fell out! She's a little Houdini, and darned independent to boot. Hopefully most of the rides will keep her enthralled so she won't try to take off!

Thanks everyone - I feel much better now!:yay:

Oh, man, my youngest will be 21 months when we go in June. he's my third, also, and we will have the same problem. he's not tiny, either. Short, but a chunk.

Teehee. When I was first planning I had people like Hound, Dangermouse, and HydroGuy giving me info...you're getting the short end of the stick, if I'm your guru! On the other hand, I'm "here" quite often so you know you'll get a fast answer (even if it's not totally correct, uh oh).

IF you thought she would sit, it could work if you went on Autopia with her, and your hubby went with the boys.

Or you could go with the oldest boy and maybe he could show her how to sit still in the seat? And your younger boy could go with your hubby? I definitely wouldn't go with the two youngest, that would be crazy! :)

I remember feeling that it would be fairly simple to drive while DS sat next to me...I just didn't know he would REFUSE to sit next to me!

I know, you need a third adult with you. Someone nice to small children, who has recently had a solo trip so can be really Zen when she's just hanging with a kid or two, who might be able to give hints, who could be a FP runner, who has the ability to ride Heimlich's Chew Chew Train with her own kid 8 times (and I'm infinitely MORE patient with OTHER peoples' kids, I'm a freak that way, a born babysitter!). Hmm. Who would that be? Who could possibly fill all those categories?

:)

We were just there last week and I had the same problem on Autopia. My 14 month old was not liking the ride at all and they MADE me sit her on her butt completely flat (she had her foot under her butt). I did see on the sign that children must be over 12 months old.

I did ride Dumbo with her and my 6 year old with no problem. We were able to ride with her on our laps on Monsters Inc, Alice in Wonderland, Buzz and the Pooh ride (that is all we took her on).

There's no short end to this stick, IMO!

That might be a good plan - Logan is a great big brother, and she's always eager to please and cooperate with him - not so much with me!

Hmm - thinking....I know - GRANNY! :rotfl: Oh, but she said she'd rather die than come to DL....so I really don't know of anyone who would fit the bill....I mean, it would be a HUGE imposition to ask someone to come all that way just to help out with the kids....they would have to be a really giving and amazingly considerate....

    Hey MOLLY - whatcha doing April 29th to May 6th??:rotfl:
