Used them last August, (they were awesome, BTW) so went online to book them for our Dec trip. I was surprised to see the mandatory 20% tip....since we have no reason to believe that we will not have great service, I am not really sweating it, but just thought it odd. Are all the co's doing this now? Actually, when I think about it, it comes to less than what we tipped last summer, as it was such an outstanding experience...so we jsut sign and go...no other tipping required? Just seems awkward..

Dont go with cartier.
We used them last year for our trip and the ride to the resort was fine. The driver was very nice and professional. On the return trip though our driver 1)Had problems driving almost got us sideswiped while turning, and got majorlly honked at when changing lanes and not looking and 2) didnt know how to get back to the airport (thank goodness for all the highway signs).

Since the trip there was so nice, we decided to give them another try and the lady that drove us on the way back would have almost a full year driving experience. But we were told that they wouldnt service us because we made a complaint last year. What kind of crap is that? We had a negative experience last year, but were willing to give them another chance to give us an overall good experience, and they reject us.

I think maybe this is why they added the statment about the 20% gratuitiy. We gave the first driver almost 20% for the trip up, but only gave the lady driving us back 5$, which i though was more than fair considering the trauma we suffered. How are they supposed to enforce the mandatory 20% gratuity anyway? They wont give you a return trip if you give the first driver less than 10%

Sorry for the rant, im just peeved.

I do not think that the 20% is mandatory, I know their website states that 20% is the minimum. Tiffany Town Car has the same message on their website.
I guess they just want people to realize that the tip is not included and that 20% is the going rate. I certainly would not tip 20% if I receive bad service...what would they do to you if you not tip 20%?
