I know I read on here before suggestions on type of pen to have handy for use w/ the autograph books when meeting characters. I think it was recommend to have a thick sharpie maybe ? Wondering if I need to pick some up before we go. Anyone have an suggestions?

thanks !

Yes, the thick Sharpies works best for the characters with big hands.. they can grip them better...

I would go more for longer pens then thicker. If you want to go with Sharpies, I would go with the clickable ones, as they are longer.

great tips thanks ! I actually have a couple of the click one's so I will just bring those.

We did not use Sharpies on either of our two family trips, and I do not plan on bringing them this time either. When we buy our autograph book at WDW, we buy one of the pens next to the books for about $4. The pens are thicker and longer than other pens, and it doubles as a souvenir too. I've never had any characters not be able to use the pen, besides the ones that can't sign with anything and have to stamp, like Buzz Lightyear.

A little tip I've picked up from these boards are that if you use a pen with a fluffy top or that lights up or something, the characters play with them and interact more.

Not sure if that helps

Very true! I once gave Captain Hook a pink sharpie and he had something to "say " about that!

One thing about Sharpies though, characters who wear gloves can't "click" them. So be sure to take the pen from them as soon as they are finished b/c the marker can end up on you or your child's clothes while trying to take pics, giving hugs etc...

I saw the pens at laughing place and wondered if they were long enough. Sounds like they would be OK. My thoughts abour sharpies were mentioned about getting on something and I would for one feel terrible if it got on one of the characters too. thanks so much for these tips!

True....on our last trip we bought our daughter a pen with a dangling Minnie Mouse on the end. Chip (or Dale?) had a great time with that with her. He kept spinning the Minnie around.......it was really cute! And it was not a thick pen. Just regular size. None of the characters had a hard time with it.

This is a little OT but we found at EPCOT if you get there at rope drop you can go to the character center and get pictures and autographs with Mickey, Minnie, Donald etc in no time at all.

This will sound dumb, I know...but here goes:

Where is the Character Center?

Thanks!

Donald is not at the Character Connection because he meets in Mexico.

The Character Connection is a character area near Innoventions.

AS you enter Epcot, the 2nd innoventions buidling on the right, there is a big sign over the door, it is also not very crowded later in the day
