Autographs???

Occasionally Jack Sparrow and his "first mate" will put on a street show of sorts near PotC. Several children are chosen to swordplay with the first mate and a big kid has to fight Jack. After this, he picks several more kids from the crowd and hands them each a scroll. They recite the "Pirate's Code" and the first mate mentions that there is a bounty on Jack's head. He takes off, of course, leaving the kids with the scrolls. Mine says

Pretty neat, huh?

wise king mickey, that scroll and skit does sound pretty cool! DS6 would have loved it! pirate:

I'm not sure why it was so hard to get Captian Jack's autograph. We found him stumbling over to his area and the CM escorting him grabbed my daughter's autograph book and he signed it, but it seemed like this was not typical. It was the worst photo of all the ones we took because he wouldn't pose, the CM just took a photo of him signing the book.

Jeez, you would have thought it was really Johnny Depp!

When was this? I'm wondering if at first he wasn't supposed to sign autographs, and then there was such a demand that they began doing it. We went in late September, but all the pirate stuff, including the appearance of Capt. Jack, started after the Pirates movie premiere (June?)

I'm guessing the stumbling was to stay in character? His mannerisms and speech were really quite good, I thought!

Added: How odd that Capt. Jack wouldn't even pose for a picture! He did pose for us (and a long line of other fans), so I'm not sure why they wouldn't in your case, unless he was in a rush on his way to do the little skit described above. I know fans often find a character on the way to an appointed appearance, but I don't know how they typically handle it. I've seen princesses take a child's hand and walk them over to the location. No idea how Capt. Jack would do it. :confused3
