Don't know if this is the right place to post this but what type of pen should we use for character autographs? We got the books from Disney if that matters. I know people say a thick pen is good for characters with big gloves but are Sharpie's ok? Ball point? A larger felt marker with a normal tip?

Thick Sharpies are the best choice for characters.
. . . can be handled with/without gloves
. . . easy for characters to see
. . . easy for characters to grab from your hands

We use the retractable Sharpie's (multi color packs).. but you will see people using all kinds of pens and markers... I'll never understand why they don't sell Sharpie's at the counters with the autograph books... they sell cutesy ballpoint Disney pens.. that I think are hard for the gloved characters to use...

We always use the retractable Sharpies too. They come in lots of colors and are very easy for the characters to handle.

We use thick line markers. We bring the corresponding colors for the characters to sign and they love it. (For example, green for Tinkerbell, Blue for Cinderella, purple for Sofia and Doc McStuffins) The thick lines look a lot nicer than ballpoint autographs.

The Sharpies or markers don't run through the pages then?

We used Crayola Markers on a Disney Autograph book. No, it doesn't run through the pages.

We planned which characters to meet for the day, and just bring the corresponding color markers + a general color brown / black marker in a ziploc bag to the park. We didn't haul a big box of markers everyday. DH thinks I was crazy about going into such details of color matching. :rotfl2: But when I look at the autograph book now, it is so nice and so worth it.
