last year before we went to disney, i bought red spiral bound 4x6 cardstock books for autograph books. they worked ok but were hard to keep place and ready for characters (we had a 5 and barely 2 year old). i would like to try something new this year. i read where someone took a tee shirt and a fabric pen for the characters to sign. i would like to try this but any suggestions on what to put between the layers to keep the ink from running through? any other ideas welcomed. we are leaving in 2 weeks.
thanks

I've never done the t-shirts before but a piece of foam core between the layers should work. You can get it at Micheal's or AC Moore.

You could bring a piece of cardboard. We stick with the autograph books because they are portable. Shirts, cardboard or foam, and sharpies seems like a lot to carry around all week. But tshirts are for more practical afterwards :)

I read somewhere that people buy postcards and carry them around for the characters to sign....me and my mom are going to try this when we go, this way we can send the poastcards to family and friends and keep some for ourselves.

We get the character's autographs in our Disney Storybooks. That way, when we're reading the stories at bedtime, we see the signature and it's a reminder of the trip we took and gets the kiddos thinking about the next trip! The additional benefit is it seems they get to sleep easier and faster! :thumbsup2

I love the autograph books myself, I sorta made ours though. I used a small spiral scrap book, decoupaged pretty paper over the covers and then decoupaged stickers of different characters and lettering for scrape books with the glitter mode poge over everything and then tied three to four inch ribbon on the spirals (large spirals on the book), it was sooo pretty. My daughter loved it! I put stickers on pages for my daughter to know who was to sign what page, of course you can't find stickers for everyone but you get the point.
