Autograph books

I ordered the princess ones for DD's and the regular blue Mickey and characters book for DS. They arrived yesterday and I was surprised how small the blue one was (4x6 pages whereas the princess book is 5x7). Are the pages big enough or should I go for a larger size? Is there a different one that I can get that is boy friendly and not too expensive. I'd love to make my own but there is no way that will happen! Thoughts?

Are they the Disney official ones? The 4x6 should be fine. We have used that size cards before and the characters managed with no problems. You may actually appreciate the smaller size if you are carrying books for more than one child

I believe I know what ones you are talking about....does the Princess one have slots for pictures? I ordered the 2014 ones off the Disney Store official park merch so I had them before getting to the parks. They are red and have Mickey, etc on the front. These are probably 5x7, and have the slots for pictures on one side and the other is the page for the autograph. These worked out great, except half way through the trip they were full! So I ended up buying the boys the small blue Mickey ones (without picture slots) to finish up the trip. They were smaller than the first one, but they were big enough for the characters to sign. We never had a problem with them. And they had a lot more pages than the ones with the picture slots.

This is very true. The bigger ones do take up a lot of space in your bag. I like the picture slot on the bigger ones, but the smaller worked fine, too.

Yes they are the official ones and believe the same you can buy in the parks. There's no place for pics in the blue ones. The princess ones have a place for pictures but they are also bigger pages.

I struggle with this idea because I know they'll want to do it in the parks but then they will sit on a shelf when we come home. I'd love to use the pages (and the pictures) to make some type of wall collage....

Coming from a scrappy chick here, I think a collage is an awesome idea!

I'd stick with those if you're happy with the design. In terms of size I think they are great and you will be able to pull the pages out if you want to do a collage when you get home. It's the hard cover that makes all the difference as it provides a stable surface for writing on and I don't think you'll have a problem with them.

Characters practice signatures in those VERY blue books, so most of them will sign that size. What's more problematic, is that the bigger books are so big that the signatures are either too small or can be distorted when they try to sign that large.

Based on size only, I recommend the larger book for meet and greets with multiple characters, so they can sign the page together (Pooh/Tigger, Wendy/Peter, Goofy/Pluto) and the smaller book for single characters. That doesn't work at all if you are specific about which character images you want to book in the book later on.

WE brought a bigger book- it is a sketch book that I got at Michaels and decorated the cover. I think the size is a little bigger the 5X7. The characters had NO Problem making their signatures large enough to fill the page. He gave them a marker so it was bigger then a pen. Every character signed in bigger letters and many added embellishments around their name (jake a sword, belle fancy swirls, ariel bubbles, etc) Here is picture of our book with signature. I had the characters sign in the order that we saw them- no specific pages for the characters. they all signed on a new page, but we kept it consistent, so they are all going the same direction. Then I went back and added pictures on the top part of the spiral (the back of the signed page from the previous character)

So now we have a photo album that is a picture on one side of the spiral and their signature on the other side.
