Last year I posted some preliminary photos of autograph books I ws making for my Dec 2006 trip. I just shared my finished books with the Disney Scrappers group and decided to share here. We are heading back to WDW this December and need to get to work on new books. LOL

I hope you like them. I think they turned out fairly well.

WOW those are great! Did you just take the squares with you and make the tags later??? I love the books what great keepsakes for your kids

I made the book and took the entire sarabinder with me to the park. I made my autograph books character meal specific. The day we had reservations for that meal I would get the appropriate book and place it in a small Disney shopping bag with my Sharpies for protection and ease of access. I would place that inside my small back pack purse I carried to the park. We set the autograph book on the table and as a character approached we opened it to their page and pulled out the corresponding tag. Many of the characters seemed to get a kick out of seeing "their" page and a few wanted to look at other pages. I used the fastenater to staple the ribbon to the tags so they are quite sturdy. I used the Disney fastenaters, of course.

I made the tags by hand for these books. I am going to make books for my trip this December. I plan on using either my Wishblade to cut tags for my next books or possibly my Cricut. I cut some trial tags with the Cricut last night and the tags at 5 1/2 inches are the right height but are narrower that the ones I made. I am going to make a tag to see if I think the narrower tag will make it more difficult for the characters in costumes to sign. If I think it will be a problem, I will play around with the sizes of some Wishblade tags I have and go with them. It will go much quicker letting a machine cut it then making them by hand measuring.

mel these are just beautiful! where did you get the sara binders if you don't mind me asking? i'd love to do something like this. i'm thinking maybe i would just bring the tags with me and put them in the book when we get home. i'm thinking maybe a ziplock with sharpies and tags and just have them sign it. then after getting home i could decorate it. you did such a great job! really! i loved each page better than the next. pat yourself on the back for a job well done!!!!
thanks for sharing them with us.

Thank you for the compliments. I am highly critical of most of my work and must say that eventhough I used a simple format I really like how the books turned out. I was also glad that I was able to put together part of our last trip rather quickly. I will do a page in my big book to represent these events but this allows me to do my attraction pages first.

I used the Square sarabinders. They are 5 3/4" sqare. I used the pockets to put the autgraph tags into. I bought the dividers and trimmed off the tabs for additional pages for photos. I purchased my sarabinders at Recollections I went there yesterday to get more for the upcoming trip. They did not have any but they had the pockets and dividers. I went ahead and purchased them to get started. They also have a tall sarabinder which is 5" by 7" but I am not sure how it will work out.

You can purchase sarabinders online at http://paperwishes.com/products/9979 . I am hoping this link will take you to the page with the binders, pockets and dividers.

I agree that taking the tags in a ziplock with the pens is a good idea. I would take the added precaution of inserting a piece of cardboard or chipboard to give the bag shape and protect the tags against bending and such in your bag.

Wow, what great keepsakes! I love your work.

thank you mel for the link! i hope you don't mind but i sent my friend a link to your page so she could check them out as well. they are just so pretty!

thanks again.

You are welcome for the link. No problem that you shared. It is flattering that you thought it worthy. I have been workingon books for my trip in December. My lap top died so I am having to use my desk top. I have been using the Wishblade to the paper to cover the CD pockets and dividers. They are 5 3/4" square. It went much faster than last year when I hand cut the pages. I also used the Wishblade to cut a tag 5 1/2" by 4 1/2" for the autograph. I am using the Cricut as I do this to cut 4" squares to put on the tags for the autographs. I may use the Cricut to cut mats for my pages. The George cartridge has basic shapes so I am good to go. I am also thinking I may use the Disney cartridge to make embelishments for my Chef Mickey book and possibly Donald's meal at Animal Kingdom and the Garden Grill character meal. I can perhaps use khaki color papers to dress them for Donald's meal and attempt to make their clothes look like safari gear. I am still playing around with ideas. I am also considering using coasters to make an autograph book. I have a stack of coasters and was thinking I could cover them with Disney theme paper and make an autograph book by putting the coasters on a ring. I am not sure if it will work or not but I am going to make a mini book of some kind with them since the lovely people at On the Border, Olive Garden, and Chilis were so gracious to give me oodles on each request I have plenty of the same type and size for many mini books. LOL

WOW! those are great books. What kind of papers did you use? (Garden Grill, Donald ,etc)
Do you mind if I share your link with a friend and possibly scraplift some of your pages! I am not nearly as creative as you!:)

GREAT album!! I love the simplicity of your work - it's not too much where I'm focusing on the "stuff" vs. the pictures. The pictures are enhanced by the simple backgrounds - beautiful!! Makes me want to work on my album, even though we're not going until Feb! I also love, love, love the "pull out" photo idea - wonderful!

I'm trying to make an autograph album but can't figure out how to enlarge the clipart in Word document without distorting the picture. It doesn't look right when I print it out.

You can share the link with your friend. It is not a problem at all. I take it as a compliment.

The book with Donald and Garden Grill is made using Basic Grey paper. It is the Oh Baby Collection. It was my first book so I wanted to do one where I would not have to work to coordinate papers since I had no clue what I was going to do other than go for SIMPLE regarding format and such. I hoped to pull off simple but nice. I am usually very critical of my pages but I can say I really like the books I made using Sara binders and am currently working on some more for my next trip.

The Chef Mickey book uses Reminisce - Real Magic paper collection. The Princess book has Creative Imagination Princess papers and Disney Princess papers. The Crystal Palace book uses Disney Pooh and Gang papers and Bazzill Bling.

Tina,

I don't use the clip art except for patterns to paper piece and maybe some party invitations but I know what you are talking about. As you increase the size of the image, it blurs into a fuzzy distorted mess. Well, there is NO way to stop the distortion of those pieces of clipart. I can offer some advice on how to avoid the problem in future clip art you collect. You have to use clip art that is already a decent file size. It is kind of like if you want to use a photo you find online you want to find the one with the most megapixels to make it print well later or to enlarge it. If you use google, you can search for Disney clip art. The more specific the better in search (i.e. Jasmine, Sorcerer Mickey...) Click on images for the search instead of the default web search. Down the page a bit you will find Showing: all image sizes. I drop the menu down and pick large images, then medium if I have no luck. The image search has the image properties. The higher the numbers the better. I hope this helps.
