Does everyone get autograph books? Last time we went the kids were really too shy and I don't know how they will be this time. Also, don't want to get them and have the kids end up with like 2 signatures. What do you think? :confused3

YOu could always just buy an inexpensive notebook and see if they use it this time. If they do, then next time you could buy the WDW ones.

That is how we started off with autographs. Last year we bought the books, but they are no where to be found and the kids really dont care about the signatures in a book. So this year i decided to do something else. I am going to get the autographs on pieces of fabric using a fabric pen. I will take pics of the kids with the characters and then transfer them onto iron on paper and them iron them on fabric. I am goign to try to make a quilt for each of them. My mom can always do it for me if I can't take on the project. This is somethignn that I know they can use for years and years.

There are some other creative authograph ideas too.

It is your choice what to do with autograph books. When i was 7,8,9,10-i really enjoyed them. My parents bought both my sister and I one, but I really never look at it once we come home ro anything. Another thing you can do, which I heard a friend did with her daughter who is 7 and her son who is 10, she took a plan notebook and bought disney stickers, found clip art pictures etc, and allowed the kids to decorate the books on the airplane going to disney world. This alloowed them to have thier own autograph book, with their won sense of style. Thought that was a great idea! She said it kept the children entertained on the plane ride. She said it also allowed more room for a picture of them and the characters who had signed the book. Have a good trip!

If anyone want to use them that is great. We always take my mom on trips with us and she insisted on my kids doing this but they really didn't care. I was stuck holding them the entire time and hated it. She tried this the second year we went and i just left them in the room and refused to carry them. My kids didn't care a bit. If they like a characted we get a pic wiht them and we are all happy.

My kids loved the autograph books up until they reach about 8 or 9. They especially liked them in Epcot where they would get them autographed at the Kidcot stops and see their name in Japanese or another foreign language. DD used to be shy about going up to the characters that roamed WDW, but she still wanted an autograph and photo...so of course I'd have to go up and get the autograph sometimes with her effectively hiding behind me...but she treasures those books now and so does DS. Great memories to look back on. I always got the kids their own books from the dollar store and they got new ones for each trip. The first page of each book always designated the date, so we knew when it was from. Funny that we can look back and see Pooh's signature (or any other character's) from a time span of almost 10 years and it is always the same...love how Disney does that!

We are doing a Character meal each day... so that is the ONLY time we will be getting autographs... I refuse to Carry it around the park!! Atleast whiel she is this young!!

I always had autograph books that were 3x5 and they fit in my fanny pack, so I just shoved them in there and we were good to go. The Disney ones are larger though...lucky me that my kids didn't care about having the Disney ones! Thank goodness...because at the time we were on an extreme budget and just happy to be at Disney at all! :)

Can anyone tell me approx. how much an autograph book and the disney pens cost? I would love to buy Disney Dollars and give them as a gift to my DDs, so that they can purchase them themselves when we get there! Just wondering how many Disney Dollars I should buy.

I made my kids autograph books and they are small and light, yet big enough for signatures. I used chipboard and acid free paper, punched holes and put them on a ring. Easy to carry and fit in a bookbag etc. When we get home, they can keep them as is or I will place them on their picture albums along with the pics of the character giving the autogragh.

I believe there are around 9.00 for the books without the places to place the picture and the pens are anywhere from 4.00 to 8.00 dollars depending on how 'fancy' the pens it. I believe the autograph book with places for the pictures is around 12.00. Hopefully that helps you!

We always get the kids autograph books but what we do is go to the Disney outlet stare at the Florida premium outlet mall and pick up the last publication of the book they came with pens and were 3 bucks. This is a much better way to do it rather than the 12 dollars or whatever they were at the parks. The nice thing is that this book also has a picture sleeve on the page to put the kids pic in with whoever they had their pic taken with.

Thanks, iluvgoofy24! That was very helpful! I'll probably give them both $20 Disney Dollars and that should do it! ----if I don't decide to do something more creative like the ideas listed here! Thanks again!
