Any suggestions where to get autograph books? It is has been aloooooooooooooong time since my last trip to the world but as I recall everything is very expensive. I know dd will want autographs does anyone know where I could pick up an autograph book before we leave?

TIA

Hi!

Autograph books are one thing that I highly recommend you wait & get in WDW. (You won't have any trouble finding them...they are in every gift shop in every resort & park).
WDW has about a 1/2 dozen to choose from, ranging in price from about $7.00 - $13.00. I know my own 2 kids would not want a plain autograph book found at a store at home, when they could have a cool, WDW autograph book.

For my kids, on arrival day of every WDW trip, part of the fun is heading to our resort gift shop to pick out an autograph book & pen.

Just thought I'd let you know what works well for us. :)

I wanted to do the same thing. I wanted to be sure I had the books in hand when we got to the park, this way I wouldn't have to stand in line for the books. I got mine off of ebay, I searched for Disney Autograph books and several appeared. I believe they are the same sold at the parks. It's blue and has several characters on the front and says "official disney world autographs" or something of the sort. I paid $15 for 3 books including shipping.

I agree 100%. I understand the need to save money because I am certainly not made of it;) , but they aren't that expensive at DW and it really is fun to have one that is D themed:goodvibes . If you want to save then just buy the least expensive on they have and call it a day.

I have seen some disney themed 'journal' type books for anywhere from $1-$6 at places like dollar general, big lots, walmart. And occasionally clairs carries some disney stuff like that but there's are more expensive. We havent bought the disney ones. My friend gave me the idea of scrap booking with the autographs. she intended to cut out the autographs for her scrap book but her dd wouldn't allow it. So what I did was got a 5X7 spiral bound scrap book from walmart or michaels...this worked great I was then able to print pictures and add them. The second time I wanted my dd to be able to add the pictures if she wanted but I wasn't so interested in scrapping. I also loved the idea of the journal pages on themouseforless.com as well as the word searches etc. With the regular book somehow we accidentally skipped pages and characters wrote upside down. Thinking of all of this I bought what was I guess basically a half page 3 ring binder at walmart. Decorated it disney and printed a bunch of the journal pages/wordsearches/etc on colored cardstock and also put in a bunch of extra pages for the autographs. She loved this but I have to say daily pages was a bit of overkill as she only filled out a few.

one thing I really liked about both of these ideas was that she was able to open the completely to the right page..didnt have to hold them open if you know what i mean. They were able to fold the front completely over so only one page was showing. I think the one I bought my dd for the first trip was actually an 8X8 a little prettier than the 5X7 I got my son. Had a pretty blue color with a hole in the middle for a pic. Our first thing at the world was dinner at 1900 park fare and the fairy godmother made a beautiful title page for it. We had so much fun afterwards adding the pictures and stickers.

I don't know if you are up for making your own, but that's what I did. I bought a small scrapbook and printed clipart from online and glued in lettering along with the clipart, making one page per character. It was actually very fun! If I can help you with the clipart I used, let me know and I can email it to you. I also have an alphabetical list of characters.

Instead of an autograph book, we bought a Disney hardbound storybook with a collection of Disney stories in it before we left home. Then in the parks, the characters could sign "their" story and the inside of the cover left plenty of room for those characters whose story was not included in the book. My girls love it because when we get the book out to read from it, it has specials memories and we can talk about our trip. We also have done the standard autograph book, which turns up with missing pages in the bottom of their toy chest. The hardbound books sell for around $15 or so but you are also getting a wonderful collection of Disney stories.

I LOVE that idea! Thanks for sharing. :)

I buy 4x6 spiral bound "scrapbooks" and the kids and I personalize the covers with stickers, paper, etc. They LOVE these and prefer them to the tiny ones at WDW. Plus, this way, it's *theirs* and no one else's looks the same.

I'm with some of the OP on this one - I ended up finding a photo album w/ 3-ring binder. Then, I bought a 50pg pkg of 8x8 cardstock, a pkg of scrapbook rub-on transfers, and a cute 3D sticker of Ariel at Hobby Lobby. All in all, it was less than $10 for all of it by catching the sales.

That way, DD will be able to "customize" her book herself (with a little help). Closer to the trip, we're going to print off some of the signature pages onto the cardstock -see this site by Julia&NicksMom for what they look like: http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/DisneyShirtGallery/Autograph Pages/.

Another DISer gave the idea to put the photos in afterwards, so that's why we went with the photo binder and it's not at all bulky to carry with us in the Baggallini. :thumbsup2

I was on EBAY the other day, and they had several Disney Brand Autograph books. I plan on buying ours there, before we go!

This post prompted me to ask my DD9 what she wanted to do for an autograph book...look at the ones on ebay or get one at WDW. She actually asked to pick up a plain one here that she could customize herself. She thought it would be more special that way. She's pretty artsy-craftsy, so that might not work for everyone, but I thought I'd contribute! :goodvibes Guess I'll be heading to Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupons this week.

I think I am going to ask dd what she wants to do. We will have about a 16 hour one way what a fun way to spend the time by customize her own book. But if she wants we will buy in the gift shop.
