autograph books: decisions

A few questions regarding autograph books.

Decision one: do I print them from my house and have them bound or do I go through Walgreens and make a flip book with them

Decision two: how many pages to include? if we are going to 1900 Park Fare, CRT and princess meet and greet that is three pages for Cinderella- what have people done?

Thought about making "mini" books to take to the character meals so we don't have to worry about some many places to sign?

The last trip..
I cut out tags (3x5) for the characters to sign. I did not bind them that way I could include them in my scrapbooks as I completed them.

Having the blank cards, I just tried to color co-ordinate for the characters.. Donald- dark blue, Mickey- red or yellow, Pluto- yellow, Cinderella- blue, Aurora - pink.

When there are multiple places to see characters, I tend to have the kids get the autograph at one place and the additional places we try to just get photos and interact with the character.

We've done:

8x8 CM book with extra blank pages, then let DD decorate and put in pics when we got back. It did get bulky to carry around.

4x6 and 6x6 books, of blank white pages and bound with book rings, nothing fancy and took them apart and scraped the autograph with the pics. they were pretty portable.

Pre-made pages by the DIS-igners which took a long time and a load of ink to print out. the characters loved them! I am not sure how I want to scrap them just yet. They were also a little bulky because I printed lots of characters!

I also do a book for each kiddo and put them in ziplock bags to keep from getting wet and too banged up.

We made 2 types of books:

For my sister & I, we had printed out photos of autograph cards found on the Creative DISign board then we put them in a photo album that holds 100 photos. We had them printed through shutterfly & snapfish. To personalize it we had covers made that had our names on it, also from people who are on the Creative DISign board. We had one of the big paperclips that we clipped on the cover. These worked out well as we would clip the card to be autographed on the front so the character could autograph. and were not too heavy.

For my 3 nieces, we took unlined 5x7 index cards & decorated them with my scrapbook papers & stickers, leaving a 1/2 inch margin at the top. (We found lots of cool clip-art & printed them on clear sticker paper for most of the characters since I didn't have my cricut carts yet for Disney.) We then punched holes in the top & put them in a 3-ring index card binder. The covers were personalized with pictures made by the Creative DISign board.

Our plan now (for both book types) is to take those cards that we got autographs on and on the card above it (as you are looking at the book), we are going to use a photomat & put a picture of the kid with the character. We are going to take some Disney material & cover the hard cover so that it will be a permanent Disney book for each of the girls to keep.

While we liked both books, when we do this in the future, we will probably use 4x6 cards and put them in the photo album because it is less bulky. The characters loved both book types and we had great interactions with them.
