I'm just wondering about an autograph book for DD who is 4 to take with us. Is it the 'norm' for the characters to sign autograph books? And I read somewhere that a large pen would also be a good idea. Would appreciate any general thoughts on this. Many thanks

Yes most characters will sign autographs and most children (and adults) really enjoy collecting them.
A chunky pen is best as some of the characters have difficulty gripping it if its a small think pen
You can buy the books and pens in virtually every shop there in the hotels, parks and village but some people do prefer to make their own - the first yr we went DD just had a Princess notebook

We always bring a sharpie. It is chunky and easy for them to write with. Other great ideas we have heard of instead of a book.

Mickey Hands
Pillow Case
Large White vinylmation.

One year I bought cheap white sun hats and the girls loved collecting autographs on them and then wearing them later on to show them off.

Infact they both still have them and now they are 21 and 16 years:rotfl2:

We had an autograph book on our last trip, and bought the pens they sell with them.

I'm really contemplating doing something a bit more 'off the wall' this trip! I love the sun hat idea! :thumbsup2

There are two types of autograph book sold in the parks: basic ones with many blank pages and other slightly larger ones that have a double page spread with one side for the autograph and the facing page with a clear envelope to slip a standard size photo in. We have several of these now (they hold 15 autographs) and DS loves looking through them. He cannot read, although many of the autographs are very distinctive, so the photos really help and make a lovely souvenir of the character meets. :goodvibes

Many thanks guys for the replies. Have decided to order the 20th anniversary autograph/ photo book from the Disney store to take with us and will pick up a chunky pen when we get there. Should have realised they'd sell such things there :lmao:
