Where can I find one? I would like to purchase one before we leave. I thought the Disney store would have a themed one but they don't. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the info. I had no clue where these little books came from. This will be my fourth visit and the first time with my son so I'm looking at the parks in a whole new light.
We get ours at the gift shop when we get there, but I've seen some in Big Lots. The ones at Big Lots don't have Disney characters on them though. I agree that a fat pen is a must. But sharpies work just as good (just as long as the sheets are thick enough not to bleed through the paper).
To go along with what Cindy B said... we also print out each character's pic on a 4x6 card...have them autographed...then we get small photo albums.. when you get home you can put the card into the photo album right next to your child picture with that character. So that the autograph and picture are on the same page. It is SOOO cute!!! WE love to do this!! It makes a great souvenir!!!
Cindy B., do you use an index card as the cover also?
Maci, where do you get the pictures to print on the 4x6 cards?
Of course they're great ideas now that I have time but it's nice to know I can get one at the hotel just in case I get off track. But we all know getting off track never happens in ParentLand!!
Get the pics on line, just tyoe in disney clipart and there are tons of sites. www.disneyclipart.com & www.disgalaxy.com are a couple of good ones!
Have fun!!
I just printed all of mine up last night!!!
Michael's has small spiral bound scrapbooks available--covers come in different colors as do the pages inside. Everything is acid-free. I think ours is 5 inches wide by about 4.5 inches high--has about 35 pages in it. I got some Disney-themed stickers and decorated the front and used sticker letters to title it. It's a secret surprise for DD (who's 2.5 years old) our first day in the parks.
Total cost (the books were on sale): $5.50 (w/o tax).
Took almost no time to do also (very important when time crunch is upon you!) and you can customize it.
I plan on following a tip I read on another thread about having character sign one page and we put photos of DD and characters on opposite page.
Yes, I used a regular index card for front and back....and index cards in the middle as well.. (the unlined ones of course!)
This is our second round of homemade autograph books. The first one we did we had the front and back index card cover laminated, but this year we didn't do that.
My son & I also make our own. We use scrapbooking paper and a couple of acid free thick pens. They work great and my son can color coordinate with the characters. When we return home, I use the autographs right in our family scrapbook.
