Okay with so many characters how many should I really include? This will be our first time to WDW.

I think that it depends on the kiddo. When I took my god daughter to WDW, she went character crazy. She wanted to meet the characters more than going on the rides! We ended up getting over 50 autographs!

I printed out the main characters (Fab6, Princesses, Winnie and friends) and had a lot of blanks (the ones that are park specific)

It was a great time hunting for characters! It was a totally different way to enjoy the parks!

I was going to ask the very same question. I'm bringing 3 boys (13, 11 and 6) and one 2 year old girl.....so I'm thinking they won't be into it as much as the average girl would be. I was going to guess 30 pages each. Gosh I hope I'm right! LOL I'm hoping to have the characters sign only one side of the paper, so that I can attach pics on the other sides....we'll see! LOL

Thanks Mandy for that advice, I'd originally guess 10 per kid! LOL That would have sucked!

We did up an autograph book as an 8 x 8 photobook before we went over spring break and we had some awesome experiences with it. Some of the characters made a big deal out of having their own personalized page - Minnie Mouse sure liked it! The biggest reaction was the Green Army Man from Toy Story, he danced around and showed everyone his page.

We also had a couple of characters that looked for their own page when they saw the others, and I did not have a page for them. Woody saw that Buzz had a page and he did not and he gave me a hard time about it, it was kinda funny. Also Aladdin did not have a page but Jasmine did (they were together at the time), so he checked the whole book to make sure Prince Charming did not have his own page either, and then he was fine signing Jasmine's page. It was a lot of fun for the kids.

We had 20 pages and actually had some pages doubled up. We saw Ms. Bunny, Easter Bunny and Mary Poppins. I did not expect to see any of those, so we had them sign random pages with other autographs already on them.

Try and include some generic pages too. I had a few like that and they were quite useful when I did not have a specific page for the character. You just never know who you will see!

Thanks for the information. I was also going to ask if we should just do all generic or have characters on them....probably helpful if we don't remember who is who. I admit I don't know who they all are.

We usually get in the ballpark of 30-40 autographs. We do the character pages and blank pages as well. Our best interaction was several years ago with Mary Poppins and Bert. Bert was lamenting about his lack of page and having to sign with Mary when Peter Pan strolls up, grabs the book, finds his page which he'd autographed earlier in the day and rubbed it in to Bert that he had his own page as well. Ended up getting a photo with all three of them "fighting" over the book and DD trying to break it up. Loads of fun!

BTW, we do the 4x6 pages and put them in a small photo album in alphabetically order to find them easier.

which design did you end up using?

I'm doing two this time, possibly three if by BFF decides she wants one. I'll be using donatalie's vol2 designs for one and her vol3 designs for the other. In the past, I've used ones her vol1 and vol2 as well as ljcollins and chaoscent. TinaDarlich has some new ones out as well.

Many of the designers cards actually have the name written on them. Helps to keep them straight especially those like Chip and Dale! We used some one year that didn't have names on and purposefully mixed the two up and caused a riot. It was so funny. Dale seems to think he's cuter. :)

On our trip last year we bought the regular ones from the parks that have about 100 blank pages in them. After seeing most of the characters in the parks, plus a few character meals, we almost filled the whole thing! I think there was only maybe 10 blank pages left.
Granted, there were a couple doubles by accident, but we also have a few like Chip and Dale that signed side to side.
So...depending how 'character crazy' you think your family will be.......Also, I don't know how long you are staying, but we normally go for about 12 days at a time so we plan in lots of character time.
Worst case scenario, you make a book for the most important characters, leave a few blank pages, and if it fills up while you still have ones you'd like to see buy one with about 20 or so pages at the World.
Hopes this helps!

Come on over to the Autograph Book Thread (link in my signature). Post #1 lists all of the card DISigners with their links and post #2 has an updated list of all of the characters that are currently appearing in the parks. In a typical 7 day vacation you can expect to get 60-70 signatures (without character dining) if your kids are serious about getting autographs. If you would like a personalized cover design, put a request at the end of my thread. :goodvibes
