Autograph Book Ideas Please

I've seen some adorable autograph books and would like to do something cute for dd for our upcoming trip. I heard you often get extra attention from characters if you have a unique book, and I have no problem making a creative book.

Where my concern lies is that I'd really also like to do a scrapbook (post trip) and insert autographs into that. The problem is, I don't prepare pages ahead of time. I like to take my pictures and then make my pages around them with whatever I think coordinates best. In that case, I'd like to have autographs on a plain background.

Is there anyway I can achieve both goals in one? Should I do covered pages on one side (the left) that are cute and decorated and then just have a blank cardstock page on the right for the character to sign that I could later take out and put into a scrapbook? Or should I just do up an adorable book for dd and have a blank one for myself that I can then use in scrapbooking? Do characters mind signing two books? I'll have ds with me as well, but he's not interested in gettign autographs (though I suppose could change his mind when we get there).

Anyway, please help and please post any creative ideas you have and I'd love to see pictures of what you've done for autograph books as well to gain more inspiration. Thanks!

Personally I can not to layouts before a trip. I need the pictures and all the trip memorabilia before I can decide what the layout should look like. I would be more apt to make a really cute clip board and decorative journal boxes that the characters can sign. Then I could use the signed journal box in my layout.
