 ALL!

Okay I am not very good in the creativity department and want to do an autograph book for my daughter's 5th Birthday in our upcoming trip in December. I have been reading some threads on here on how others have done theirs but the more I read I am confused. I have seen some links with the autograph pages. How do I get started? I want to personalize this for her and make it special. Any suggestions on how to get started is so much appreciated. :cheer2: :yay:

 there is a link in my sig to my website where you can download my pages and instructions on how to turn them into an autograph book. The instructions might also help you out it you'd rather make your own pages :)

We bought these foam books at Wal-mart that are spiral bound with big blank white pages. You can find them in with all of the other foam items.

My kids then decorated them with foam letters and markers. They turned out cute and were under $4.

I then got fat disney pens at target in their $1 section and tied them to the books.

I took pics of the character signing the books and pasted the pics next to the signature.

HI--- I am also not even a 10th as creative as the folks on this board, however they did inspire me to make my own autograph book. I downloaded and organized clip-art and printed it on cardstock pages. Then I had the pages bound at Kinko's and Kinko's also put a back and front cover on as well (all for like $5) so they looked very "finished". They came out great and we got a ton of attention from characters. There are also plenty of pages so they can be used for multiple trips. Good luck!

Thanks for your tip. What size cardstock did you use? Is it a 5x7 autograph book or 8x10? Where did you find the clipart? Google? I had found some autograph pages and they are an 8x8 so they are not fitting as I wanted to do a 5x7 book.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I did mine as 4x6. I think they could be printed as 5x7 as well. They are a lot of fun to make. I just found clipart on the web that I liked for each of the characters and tried to find sayings that would match. My pages can be found by clicking on the link in my signature.

I used 81/2 X 11 cardstock and cut it in half and then had Kinkos trim the completed book so they were even. the size ended up being like 5 1/2 tall by 8 1/2 wide, but the extra room on top gave room for the binding.

In one of the sticky posts for this forum there is a FAQ/hints post by Baloo that lists a lot of great Disney clip art sites. I am not clever enough to post the link, but it is just a few above this post and is quite awesome. I think you will have a ton of fun making these books -- I am going to try to make a Christmas one if I can find enough Disney clip art. Good luck...

Thanks so much! Your pages look like they could work for doing a 5x7. I am gonna give it a try and need to start soon as we leave Dec 2. Do you by any chance know about making the tshirts? I have emailed an online co for buying the transfer paper and they told me I needed a $500 heat press. I am skeptical to spend all this $ on paper & shirts for it to not work with a regular iron.

You can buy iron-on transfers at Walmart. That is what I used on our first ones this year. There is an ebay buyer that people have purchased from if they wanted lots of transfers. We buy the paper that only needs a regular iron. I don't know the seller as I've never purchased from them myself.

 My autograph pages are 6x4 too - the link's in my signature. Have fun on your trip.

Thanks for your replies! I have been brainstorming all day on this autograph book. :woohoo: I love your autograph pages but I really wanted to personalize it for my daughter. I did searches for cliparts of all the charcters I want and will use the Disney font at the the top of each page that will say Happy Birthday Mackenzie! I was trying to find chracter clipart that is in reference to a Birthday like I found Mickey saying "Happy Birthday". I started it in my greeting card program where I can do 2 on a regular size page and cut in half to make a 5x7 book. That way I can use the features on my card program to make the pages any color and add borders, etc. I hope this works. Now I hope I do not leave out any character. My friend can put the book together for me. :yay: Any other tips for this idea of mine would be great!

Don't forget to include blank pages (maybe w/a border) for characters not in your book or cast members or Epcot Santa storytellers or whathave you....Also, check out wdwautographs.com for a pretty comprehensive list of characters. It is possible there may be more/different characters out at Christmas time. Have fun...

I know this is a bit late, or maybe not, byt here is what I did. Bought 5X7 memory book from Micheal's (used 40% coupon) then bought 5x7 or 8 (don't remember) card stock from Office Max and had them punch the hols to match the memory book. Then printed the paper with the designs the folk on the board made.

So far all of the designs have resized just fine. I have many yet to print, but Iw ill have a great book ready for our trip in Jan.
Best of luck.

Thanks so much for the pictures! I was having trouble visualizing the book that was used.

Any ideas on how to decorate the cover???

Buy some fabric and clue it like a book cover. It's easy and different. you can then use the plastic cover it comes with to keep it clean. Joann's abric has some Disney squares for about $6.99 and you can se a 40% off coupon on them. Or just find a fabric you like and use it.
I would take a picture for you, but my link to the computer is not working and I don't have tons of time to figure it out.

Again just get fabric and use it like a book cover, but cover each piece seperate. Oh and regular elmers glue will work just fine.

Thanks so much! It looks great!!! I am still trying to figure things out with finishing it. Whose pages did you use? They worked out perfect for that size. Also how many pages are you using? I know there are alot of charcters. :goodvibes

I am using everyones pages. My gilrs have gotten 3 Belle and 4 Cinderella signatures in one trip, so I figure I should do as many as I can and then what we don't use... save for the next time. I would rather have extra.
DL doesn't have as many characters out and about as WDW does (so I have read) so I am only putting in the book the ones have have seen, but I am bringing all of them and will restock at night and or bring some into the park with us. So I have no clue at this time how many will be in the book when we start. I am just going to shoot from the hip.

Well I guess I need more than 1 5x7 size page for each of the Princesses to sign? I hope I have thought of everyone. I basically did all of the ones that my daughter would want an autograph from. I will also leave blank pages. I have all printed out and did a cute cover. I just need to take to Kinkos and have them put into a book with a spiral binding.

These are some of the ones I have done. You can use them if you will like. Mine are 5 x 7 in size.
