Auto waitlist

We're auto waitlisted for a 2 bedroom at BCV in October (I know...good luck, right?). Is auto waitlist reliable or should I continue calling MS myself to see if a room becomes available?

We had to wait list for our November trip. The next time I called MS I reviewed my res. They reported that we were not on the wait list so we added it again. This is one of my biggest grips about DVC. Seems like it happens more than it should.

I guess every member has his/her own story. As to mine, the MANY times that I was on auto-waitlist I never had any problems. When something became available, it always was automatically confirmed and then I received written notification. A few times I even received an immediate phone call letting me know that everything was changed and confirmed.

Hi Did you know that you can check on the Members Website under VACATIONS?? The last time I was AUTO waitlisted it showed up on the website BEFORE I received my mail confirmation. And YES I was checking the website daily . Joan

My understanding is that if you auto wait list, they will automatically process your request and you won't be called. If you request a regular wait list, they will call and confirm before processing your request.

I wish that DVC would show special requests and wait lists on the member web site. It would reduce some of the phone calls.

I am actually not a member but considering becoming one..I have rented points from an owner so I cannot check on the website to see if the waitlist has come through and I don't know if the member does either..so I was just curious as to how long a written confirmation would take after the waitlist became available. Thanks

My written confirmations seem to take a couple of weeks. I wish that they would just email them to me.

i've had different experiences with the auto wait list...there have been times when something has come available, and my ressie changed automatically. i didn't even know it until i got the new confirmation in the mail. other times, after weeks or months of waiting, i've called MS to verify that i was still on the list and, 'lo and behold, something JUST became available to match my waitlist...

as another poster mentioned - everyone has their stories...

I just had a great experince with auto-waitlist. Checked the member website this afternoon and both my waitlists came through!! I love that I am able to check at least that on the member's webiste

Me too! This is the first time that I have had to use the waitlist. We are staying at VWL 10/15-19 in a dedicated 2bedroom (M-F) and I had to waitlist Tuesday only. Anyway, that was Monday morning and today when I checked the member wesite I noticed that I was now confirmed for all of my travel dates. WOO HOO!!!!

When I logged on to DVC this morning to see if my wait list came through, a survey popped up about dvcmember.com. I had a lot to say, and this is one of the issues that I wrote about. Thanks for posting that, disneynutz.
