Auto train shower.....is it a happy shower?

We are staying in the family bedroom in a couple of weeks and we are "sharing the shower" with other people staying in roometts.......I really like my morning shower but I am a little nervous about this one. Is there a "line" for this thing..... I would wear flip flops, and all that good stuff..... but I just want to hear from someone who knows. What do you think?

I have never used the Autotrain shower. My neices did several years ago- they had no complaints - they were teenagers at the time. I have never seen a line for the showers before.

a few years back we just had a roomette., first time cause we always did coach. well i actually used the shower. it was perfectly clean. i of course wore flip flops. i believe i brought my own soap, i know...but..... i think they had soap though. it was def. roomy enough . towels were clean...thats about it.

We had a family room years ago on a cross country trip and used the shower. If memory serves, it is stainless steel and very clean.

I showered on the auto train last month. There was no line in our car. Very clean, but wet, obviously from prior users. There were disposable paper floor mats and plenty of individually wrapped hotel sized soaps. Lots of clean towels were available. Water was hot, too.

We have gotten the family bedroom four times and have never had to wait in line for the shower. On that "level" is a handicapped bedroom which has its own shower. There are 4 roomettes, but one of them is reserved for you attendant, so that leaves at most 6 other people who you would be sharing with. We found it to be clean & not too tight (suprisingly)!!

There are also Roomettes on the upper level of the Superliner who may want to shower also, but the point remains that there is seldom if ever a crowd for the shower. Many people don't bother actually, for whatever reason, especially those on just one-night trips.
