Auto Train problem, Any luck for me???

They say you learn something new everyday! I booked my seats strickly online in April and paid for them. Today I went to add someone to my reservation and asked if I had to call in to say I wanted lower level or can I tell them at the check-in since there is no drop down box for that online. I was told the price would go up ($460) because I'd have to rebook and the promo is over. $500:scared1: I am surely not going to do that. My main reason for ALWAYS riding lower level is to be courteous to other rider with my childrens nebulizer machine. Any luck on asking at check-in or am I stuck? The lady on the phone did tell me where to pick lower level (alot of help that is now:confused3). Just being hopeful. Anyone have any luck with this?
 
Why can't you just book a separate reservation for that one person....then you won't lose the price and placement of the original reservation.
 
The OP's post is a bit confusing, but I believe the issue is not adding another person to the reservation, but selecting lower level seats, which would be more expensive than her current reservation.
 
That is correct. He has a separate reservation but in doing his I noticed mines didnt have lower level. I kinda fixed it having to pay an extra $245 using my AAA.
