Auto Train-any close affordable hotels?

Hi,

I know this has been asked before but the search function is not working at this time.

We are going down to WDW in Dec via the Auto Train, and I really want to avoid getting caught in DC traffic on the day we leave.

Is there an affordable hotel in Lorton, close to the station where we board?

I really think the peace of mind would be worth it. I live in Northern Maryland, and I know how bad the traffic on 95 gets.

I don't have any suggestions but when in Dec are you traveling...we are using the auto train for a christmas trip..

Hi,

Well, it's sort of a Christmas trip, except we're doing it a bit earlier in Dec. We'll be there from the 5th-13th. We're doing MVMCP on the 9th, and I can't wait.

I am only getting my kids a couple of moderately priced presents this year, and doing the Disney/Universal trip in lieu of a larger Christmas as we normally have.

I am tired of buying toys that they lose pieces to, or lose interest in..and I think they'll get more out of a trip like this.

Are you going to be there in Dec, also?
