Auto Confirmation Waitlist?

We have ressies at SSR in Nov. but are considering staying at BCV or BWV. I called to check availability and was put on the waitlist for both BCV & BWV.

Afterwards, I was reading about auto confirmation. I'm not sure how that would work though if we are on the waitlist for both BCV and BWV. Would we be automatically confirmed at whichever became available first and then taken off the waitlist for the other without the choice of turning down the one that became available? Our first choice is BCV and second is BWV.

My advice is to call back asap and change from auto to getting a call for both waitlist requests (BCV & BWV). With the call method, you can accept or decline when they call. If you are not home, you have 24 hours (end of next business day) to call back. Not sure what they do if you don't have voice mail / answerig system. Better ask.

With the auto system, the just automatically book you when something comes through and then mail out a confirmation. You don't know until you get the letter that anything changed. I do not believe the system is sophisticated enough to figure out choices or cancel one waitlist if another waitlist comes through. IMHO, you could end up with a real mess!

Thanks Carol. That's what I thought too and that's why we didn't go with auto confirmation, so we're just waiting for the phone call to come in.
