I went to college there many years ago. I was back last spring for a wedding that happened to occur during South by Southwest. I will never return to Austin, never. I told my three nieces who went to school there not to get married in Austin, because I wouldn't be attending their wedding. That town is awful. It used to be a nice quiet college town with lots of fun places to go. No longer.

Too much traffic. Too many people. Too many ways to get separated from your money.

And the campus doesn't even look like the campus I knew. It looks like a big downtown complex now. Not like a university campus.

I have to disagree. I love Austin, my DD goes to UT and I love the campus, but to each their own.

I love the gingerbread pancakes at Kerbey Lane.

We used to bring all of our out of town guests to do the Duck Tour.

Our favorite place to watch the bats was the TGI Friday's outdoor deck at the Radisson hotel near Congress.

Austin is a great city and we really miss living there!

Not a restaurant, but we LOVED the LBJ museum at the University. It was small, but really informative and fun. A great way to pass a few hours. The history of Texas museum was also great-- we loved getting a steak brander with DBF's last initial! I thought it was the perfect TEXAS souvenir! (We're from NY)

We were there last fall for a football game. We went to Threadgill's one night. Glad we went as the place was interesting. However the food was just OK.

We also went to Bess Bistro the restaurant Sandra Bullock owns. It's pricey but the cornish game hen special they had that night was fantastic!

We went to a few bars on 6th street, but spent most of the night at Pete's Piano Bar. That was a lot of fun.
