Aussie question about April 2009

Hi everyone, as we are from Australia we don't get to Disneyland often:( So I need your help. My daughters and I will be in the US from April 13-28 2009. Our first week will be taken up largely by dancing ( the 3 girls are dancing at DL, CA and in a parade:dance3: ) along with universal, hollywood etc. After the other dancers leave (20th April) we will be staying on another week. We want to spend 4 days in San Diego and an extra 4-5 in Anaheim to get a really good look at this magical place.

So my question is, at this time of the year when will Fantasmic, the fireworks and the electrical parade be on? Do we need to make sure we are there on a weekend so as not to miss out or will they be on during the week???

Easter Sunday is 12th April in 2009, I am not sure if the two weeks after Easter is peak time????

Thank you so much for any help you can give me... We are all so excited:woohoo:

Historically, DLR will increase its operating hours and entertainment schedule from the mid-March (when AZ takes Spring breaks) through mid-April for peak crowds. Since Easter is a bit late in 2009, I would expect DLR to have increased operating hours and entertainment schedules through the 19th for sure.

Until DLR releases its April 2009 schedule (which you can expect in about Jan/Feb 2009), no one will know for sure. However, I wouldn't count on mid-week entertainment past the 19th.

I would plan to have at least a Sunday or a Friday in the parks to make certain to catch F!, Fireworks and DEP, and then be pleasantly suprised if the entertainment calendar is extended to mid-week.

Sounds like a great trip! Have fun planning! :)

I agree with the pp that you need a Friday or Saturday in the parks to catch the fireworks if they're not running midweek. I went down in February between Lincoln and Washington's birthdays, and the only nights the fireworks and electrical parade ran was on Friday and the insanely crowded Saturday. I don't remember if Fantasmic ran or not.

This year, the fireworks have been playing during the week. However, that could change next year - Disney changes that from time to time.

Fantasmic & Electrical Parade during off-season only show on weekends.

The Aladdin show (another must-see) doesn't show on Mon-Tue.
