Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

That is awesome!

I need to find something a little better suited to my basic sewing ability :)

I was even considering buying from Disney Shopping and getting it delivered to Hojo's. The shipping is a killer to Aust.

WOW Flea. That is beautiful! good luck with it all :thumbsup2

Re shipping from disney shopping. Yes I put in one 13.95 ear hat into my basket and checked out. $49 for Shipping :lmao:

From my experience $49 is pretty good from them :rotfl: Although they do move REALLY quickly - it took 4 days to get here the week before Christmas.

Oh my gosh Flea that costume looks amazing and you must be an incredible sewer to be able to do that. I am going to keep an eye out for you because I def want to see that costume in real life ;) What date are you going to the party?

I kept our costumes simple. The girls are going as Coraline so the costume is jeans and a raincoat and gumboots - and we found the most amazing blue wigs for them to wear :thumbsup2

DD2 wants me to go as a hippie :hippie: so I am contemplating whether or not I could survive the night at the ToT party in a pair of platform boots :rotfl:

I like to sew I just don't do it much - I haven't been sewing long - maybe 2 years.

I've made similar outfits before - they look harder than they really are. It's more time consuming than anything else. If anyone does sew and wants to make one I have a tutorial on my blog www.lostinstash.blogspot.com and I have a few of my other sewing projects on www.knewbieknitter.wordpress.com

The adults in our group are going as hippies, nice and simple. We have wigs, mini skirts or shorts, jeans for DH, and tie dyed tops :hippie:

Just wanted to say that I am sitting here at my desk at work, stressing because it is end of month :headache:. Then I take a deep breath and think of keptwoman, butterflykisses, czardas, rossip & ms. shuttergirl (I don't think I am missing anyone) and wonder what they are doing right now :goodvibes . Then I remember that in 17 more sleeps I am going to be doing the same thing :thumbsup2

Wonder what they are doing, maybe party: or :drive: or :beach: or :crowded: or :drinking1 or :cake: or maybe even pixiedust: .

17 more sleeps here too. I have come to a standstill with my planning. So much to do, but it is too soon to do it. Just waiting on the long range weather forecast so I can make the final adjustments to the packing list.

Loving the costume Flea. We have a pirate night on the cruise. I wish I could be that creative.

come on now, 144 days isn't that long. We will have to wait longer than that to go again..................we just got back today. :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

hi everyone. we got back this morning. just got enough time to come on for a few minutes, starting to feel the effects of the flights and depression of having to come back home.

had a awesome trip, really felt like we have been away for months. will be filling you all in, across the next few days, I have another week off work to recover. boy the last day is sooo depressing when you have to pack.

disney was great, vegas was great, in fact, even a bad day is good. oh, the food was wonderful, except for Goofys Kitchen. i would move to the US just to have access to Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen.

Just briefly, HOJO's was good, but the new King Suites on the highway side are noisy, no question about it.

Any questions ask away, will be off line until tomorrow and will catch you tomoorow.

.

Welcome Back!!!!!

can't wait to hear about your adventures.

I had a look at your ticker and we have a similar wait till next year's trip. At least there is less than a year to go!!!!

We leave for the airport in under 3 hours!!! :cool1:

I thought I was organised but the whole morning has been a blur of last minute items and house cleaning. If I leave it clean I can say to our oldest kids ( who aren't coming) that I expect the house to be in that state when we get back. Not that they'll necessarily listen to me....

Marvel - it sounds like you had a wonderful time. We'll have to try the Cheesecake Factory this trip, have never eaten there before.

I hope the wait goes quickly for the rest of you - but I hope the next 3 weeks pass very slowly for me! ;)

Bye for now
Andona

hi everyone. I just wanted to be honest with my view on HOJO on the freeway side. The kids didn't mind it, but we did notice. We slept ok because we were pretty exhausted every night, but if I had the choice again I personally wouldn't book that room. Sometimes the windows would actually rattle due to the traffic and especially semi-trailers. You can hear them pretty clearly from the room. And the air-con is really really loud. We couldn't sleep with it on.

That being said, it depends on each individual. HOJO is great for families. The gift shop is so handy, it is super well stocked and the ladies in there are fantastic. The pools are great, the kids really loved the pirates pool play area, really alot of fun. But if I was to stay there again I would book two queen rooms at the $59 entertainment rate. which makes it virtually the same price as the king suite. The suite is large, having two bathrooms and a seperate door is great, I only wish they had built them away from the freeway. It doesn't make sense to me that you would make the family suites the ones next to the freeway??

If anyone has any questions about anything, fire away, I am not sure when I will get any type of trip report done.

Other than goofy's kitchen, we found the food fantastic almost everywhere we ate, and very good value, we have nothing in Australia that competes for the quality of food we ate in general in the US. ANd the shopping value was ridiculous. We didn't plan to buy that much as we had been to the USA last year, but how can you resist Calvin Klein jeans for $20?? We got Addidas runners for my son, get this, the price ended up being $2.50! :thumbsup2

And we are talking really nice addidas boots, not 5yr old design. We also brought back more than a suitcase of food, cereals, candy, chocolate, twinkies, steak rubs etc etc. I will post the photo of it all in the next few days.

Hope all your planning is going well.

We have had a freeway room at Hojo's for 1 night. Our room was also next to the elevator, so we had traffic noise and elevator noise, plus people lining up outside our room waiting for the elevator. I found the elevator to be more annoying than the traffic. DH wasn't bothered by any of the noise, but I was pregnant and cranky so I asked for another room. I don't know if it something I would have gotten used to after another night.

Andona, have a wonderful trip.

Wow - $2.50 is great. I'm still in love with the $4.97 jumper I got at Old Navy last time we went (and really looking forward to going back there).

Thanks for the honest feedback on Hojo's. My kids are pretty loud - they probably won't even hear the freeway noise  I'm pretty sure that we are away from the elevator though.

Glad to hear that you had fun!
