We went at the start of our holiday last time and everything else was an anticlimax for the kids, so I'm glad we have been able to schedule it last this time.

Why are the hours so long for that time Ms Shuttergirl? I would have thought lower crowds would mean less hours?

I've been waiting and waiting for them to put the full calender up for our dates, but it's still got nothing but opening hours and ride closures past the 30th of September.

My husband said the same thing about the anticlimax thing. He feels the kids will enjoy the other things we are doing with the excitement of DL at the end keeping them going.

I don't think the crowds will be that low Keptwoman, but just not as crazy as those peak busy weekends I mentioned.

I'm pretty sure that I read the fireworks will be shown every night throughout the Halloween season. At least I hope so, that way we have a really good chance of seeing them.

Oh Mel, I sure hope so. It would be so sad if I missed them.

On our first trip we did this and you're right, it is a let down. So to rectify that we now do Disneyland first for a week, and then last before we go home for a week. Hence why after we do 3 weeks of Disneyworld next trip, we're still doing a week in DL before we go home. Works wonders

Yes, I'm definitely taking insect repellant but mostly because I suspect we might get some mozzies by the lake. I'm also taking a mozzie click to stop any bites we do get from getting nasty.

On the fireworks in the Halloween season - we were there in 2007, end Sept to 9th October - the Halloween decorations were up and we went to the Trick Or Treat thing, but the fireworks were only on the weekends. And we missed them because we arrived on a Sunday and were too tired to stay up, went to Seaworld the next Fri and somewhere the Sunday and were back too late, and waited for ages on the Saturday but they got cancelled due to wind!

I'm so jealous of all you people with trips planned, you'll all have a great time!

For those interested and aren't aware already Getaway on Channel 9 (in Victoria) not sure about other states, has a special on LA. It's on tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7.30 I think.

From the ad I saw they go to DL and Universal and the usual LA attractions. I think the whole hour is in LA so may be worth a watch, particularly for DL. Hope they spend some time at DL and they don't gloss over it in 2 minutes.

I bought it off Ebay

You can discounts off car rental and also print coupons from online, there are some discounts for retailers around Anaheim so i'm going to have a good look later

Only have 44 days left to go. I am so excited but to be honest I am getting very nervous too, I think as I get on the plane I will probably start freaking out a bit about the whole thing. I haven't been o/s since I was a kid

Quick question about laptops for those who have taken them to the US before. A friend of mine told me yesterday that when you go through customs and all domestic flights in the US that you have to take the battery out of your laptop. Is that true?

I didn't even know you could take a battery out of a laptop. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
