Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

I phoned them direct about DLH a couple of months back. They ended up doing a better price for the combined accom and park hoppers than I could get myself online.

What kind of price difference? Also do you simply just ring them after you find online rates and ask if they can better them?

To be honest, I can't remember now :rotfl: It wasn't a huge price difference, maybe only $20 or something, it was just exciting to book through them, :rotfl2:

We are at Hojo October 16th to 25th. I am sure we will see Flea (whether or not we recognise you is another story :lmao: ), and could possibly see dave 73. I will just have to keep the accent radar on :cheer2:

xxx

Keep an Eye out for a redheaded curly haired little girl - she's our locator beacon :rotfl:

There are 7 of us in our group so we shouldn't be too hard to spot. 1 male surrounded by 4 adult females and 2 wee girls hehe ;):rotfl:

Well I just booked my Disneyland Express bus tickets online. :cool1: I think that was the final thing to organise.

I didn't buy them online last year, I just paid when they came around but this time I decided to get it out of the way and then it's one less thing to think about.

Who else is using the Disneyland Express? I was looking for private transfers but the cost was huge compared to using the bus, at least for 2 people anyway.

We will be using them because we can't get private transfers because we need a toddler seat, and probably better to not try and navigate the traffic to Anaheim from LAX.

We'll be at hojo's 19th - 27th Sept, I think a few others are there to from memory princesmiki and butterfly. Was thinking to attach a small koala or something to my backpack so if anyone notices it they can say hello. I have a lime green mickey head as well that DIS people use, may put that on too.

WOw, two weeks for us. I am now looking at some BBQ places and Mexican places to try in LA. Love my BBQ, not like the Aussies ones, real smoked BBQ. Anyone eating somewhere other than all the disney related places??

We have done fantasmic before, including the dessert buffet that they used to have. I really liked the WDW preferred seating option, you get dinner at Mama Melrose and then nice seating, but it is very different. I think there are only a few hundred of the fantasmic dessert seats at DL.

Hey Marvel, I would love to hear what you come up with as far as nice places to eat in LA

No worries, just working out my list. I went through hundreds of pages on chowhound and tracked down a list of places, pizza, mexican, bbq, burgers and some just around santa monica that may be nice. I will post a list of what they suggest are not to miss.

Here is a few I remember of the top of my head:

Pizza Mozza which they raved about, and they compare it to NY pizza in terms of quality, and apparently its an interesting place as well.

MOM's BBQ.

A place called PORKY's BBQ !

See if I can find my list, i have this massive pile of papers i have printed out with all the bookings, need to consolidate them all

UG!! I haven't started printing yet, but the number of pages will be massive I think, especially with maps and road directions, tips, confirmations etc. I think I'm going to staple them into 1-2 day or destination bundles so I only need to carry the relevant bits and the rest can be in a suitcase.

A lot of it is just insurance, I did this last time and didn't need most of them. All the hotels only need your name and credit card and all had our details. I will use on of those plastic sleeve folders, that way you can get to everything when you need it.

FWIW I would have said that too until a year ago where we turned up to a hotel with a confirmed and PAID room via Lastminute.com.au and they had no record at all of us and were fully booked. Very very fortunately my DH was at home. He was due to leave for the airport within 20 mins but was able to start up the computer and find the emailed confirmation and forward it to the hotel. There is not a chance that I will ever travel without the printout again... they would not believe me until I had the email proof. They had to put us up in another hotel in the end. So now I will always carry the email confirmation. I'd feel pretty safe if the email had come directly from the hotel but even then I'll take it to be safe.

I'd like to add to your story. I had a few computer problems a couple of weeks back and my trusty computer guy who I have dealt with for years, came out to the house and was doing a few things, and shock horror, deleted the last 3 months of emails sent and received. That was all of my confirmations for my trip, all tickets purchased etc.

Fortunately, I have printed everything out as I have gone along, otherwise I would've been up "you know what" creek without a paddle.

I have everything in a planning folder, with dividers for each city we are visiting and all of the print outs are placed in the order that I will need them. I was originally hoping not to have to drag the whole folder away with me but I now believe since there is so much "must have" info in there, I will just have to suck it up and take it.

Oooh yes please, if you find the list, I'd love to see it.

That Pizza Mozza sounds interesting, off to try and find it on the net

Oh my goodness!! Printing them out was fortunate indeed.

I've also got all my details in my Tripit account and that syncs with my tripit app on my iPhone.

I take one copy of all our confirmations etc in a folder in my carryon luggage and I have a second copy of everything in one of my checked bags in case something happens to the first copies. I also keep a copy of every email in a special folder in my Gmail account so I can access them anywhere on our trip. I also keep a document on my phone with all the confirmation numbers. Can you tell that I'm a bit paranoid!

I don't regret carrying them with me though - As we go through the trip I discard each of the originals as I don't need them anymore. Last year we had an issue with one of our hire cars and I had to go back to the second copy of the car confirmation to check details with the rental car people at the drop-off counter.
