Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

I agree, the 2.5 stars also worried me, someone else on this thread is also staying there, I can't remember who. The others I am tossing up are Sheraton Universal Studios which has so so reviews but being Sheraton can't be that bad. That was coming up around $200 as well. Only issue is that it is a way from Hollywood and a bit further from Santa Monica, so may have to cab it to there.

The tripadvisor reviews are pretty good for the holiday inn and we have stayed in a holiday inn previously and they are ok, nothing flash but pretty good.

We've stayed in the Holiday Inn in Hollywood. That's the one listed on North Highland. It's actually in a good spot, close to Hollywood Blvd and also the freeway and very short drive time to Universal. They have a shuttle to Universal from the Hotel. It's quality is OK and location is as good as you'd expect for Hollywood (I'm not a big fan of staying in Hollywood now). I would recommend it as a bed for the night. My only complaint is the walls are a little thin, but I don't worry about that too much and try to get a non-road side room. Peak hour into Hollywood starts at about 5:30am so if you like a little sleep in it may be a problem. Walk down into the Hollywood area is very easy and takes about 5 mins. You walk into the back of the big mall area and then you're at the Kodak theatre, Graumans and such. And of course El Capitan and the Disney Soda Fountain store. There is a convenience store across the road from the hotel (and down a little) for all the essentials as well. So as for hotels in Hollywood, it's a good choice.

As for San Francisco, I'd go the Wharf area every time. I've stayed near the city, but not the financial district which also has some good hotels, and at the Wharf area, and that is far better. Transport in and out is great and to be able to just get up and go for a walk along the water line is relaxing and worthwhile. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in the wharf area which is very nice, but we risked it and did a drive in quote and stay, got a great price. It can be quite expensive. Otherwise the Holiday Inn Express is the next block down, toward the wharf area. As someone suggested, fly into San Fran first would be a good option, something I'm doing our next trip.

Hey for those who haven't bought their Disneyland Hoppers yet, as of today the Disneyland website is offering 6 day hoppers for the price of 4 days, it is $194US for an adult and $164US for a child. For our tickets, the Expedia price for the 14 day hopper was $991.46 total for our family and I make the DL website price at $746US which is around $895AU I believe.

Looks pretty good to me.

Here's the seat chart for the plane we are flying on from SYD-LAX. We're in premium economy seats 34A & 34B. Can anyone have a look at the seat plan and let me know what you think of our seats? Are they good ones?

Our seat plan is different from the other Qantas 747-400 flights as on our flight we have 40 premium economy seats rather than 32.

It's a bit confusing as the premium economy seats seem to be divided into two sections. Half in Zone C with business class and half in Zone D with economy seats.

Not that I saw. IN the terms and conditions it just said this:-

Okay so I spoke with Disneyland this morning (gosh I love saying that :lmao:) and that offer applies for visits up until end of September, so bummer it doesn't apply to me, but it could be useful for someone else.

By the way, booked the Disneyland Hotel today :thumbsup2, woohoo I am so excited

Okay update on my trip:-

Flights are done and paid for. Leaving 28 September, returning 19 October

Have booked DLH for 5 nights, and have booked New York and Vegas Accom. Have just topped my credit card back up so I can hit Expedia again tomorrow and book San Fran and LA accom.

Then it's just the bits and pieces, tours, limo for a few things, etc.

Can anyone tell me what date I can book for the Halloween party?

And also, for my PS bookings, should I wait until 60 days before my last day at DL to ring and book the whole lot? Or call each day for each different booking?

great stuff doing all your booking. where did you end up booking in NY and Vegas?

Crowne Plaza Times Square for New York $2058 for 5 nights

and The Venetian for $758 for 3 nights (I have always wanted to stay here)

P.S. Look everyone, I have a holiday ticker in my signature now. I am still pinching myself that this time last week I wasn't planning a holiday and was hoping for Christmas 2010 at a long shot. Life is crazy sometimes.

hey, we are staying at the venetian as well, we really got a suprisingly good rate, as we wanted to stay there last year but the price was over $300 per night.

I think we got it for around $200 or so per night, but got it for the palazzo in a concierge room that includes food and drinks. very happy, i signed up for their newsletter and they email you special offers, always worth checking back as they always have different codes for different specials.

Ms Shuttergirl, yay on booking the accomodation! What dates will you be at Disneyland?

We're staying in Vegas at the Bellagio from 14th-21st September

Then 7 nights at The Disneyland hotel from 21st-28th September

Then staying 3 nights at The Dana on Mission Bay in San Diego (28th Sept- 1st Oct)

Then on to New York for 7 nights staying at The Westin in Times Square (1st - 8th October)

Ummmm, can I just say I'm spewing, haha. I wish I'd mentioned the Venetian to you a few days ago. OH well, to be honest, I was happy with that price so I'm not gonna stress, although your price is amazing.

Your trip sounds amazing Butterflykisses. YOu must be thrilled. What did you get the Westin for in NY.

And I just read a thread on here announcing that the refurb on DLH starts in August, I hope it isn't noisy and yuk when we are there.

Wow congratulations on booking this years trip. I am very happy for you, I am sure the kids are so excited. :cool1:

Just wait until you see the Venetian it's amazing. I stayed at the Palazzo and loved it so much (they are both connected via the canals) So huge, I got lost trying to find the breakfast restaurant from our room. Then took me ages to find where to meet a bus tour, took about 40 minutes to walk to the area through all the hotels and corridors.

Again well done on booking this years trip :thumbsup2

I'm not exactly sure how much each hotel was as we didn't pay for them. My fiance won our trip so all airfares, accomodation, park tickets & spending money was included :)
