In looking on the member website I ran across the Aulani Hawaii’s Transient Accommodations Tax Chart. Apparently this is a tax that the State of Hawaii imposes daily on all stays at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. My question is: Is the dollar amount per day or per point multiplied per day? For example if the studio value view was around $2.80 is the total cost just $2.80 or would it be if that particular studio cost is 15 points per day the total $42.00? Thanks.

It depends on the number of points that are being used. I think $2.80 is per day for a studio in the cheapest season. And it runs around $24/daily for a grand villa in the most expensive season.

It's a percentage based on points, etc.

There is a thread on here that breaks it down.

That is totally right. When I bought Aulani in Sept I was told it was mandated by the state of Hawaii and the $$$$ are based on the points used per night

This will make us think twice about going there... especially if we have to pay for parking. Any word if DVC mambers will have to pay for parking?

When I took the tour I was told that members would not pay for parking. The additional room tax isn't significant enough to make a difference in staying at Aulani, the rate are really very low especially when compared to what you are paying already to stay there.

The area/beach is really beautiful. Much nicer then Waikiki. You shouldn't let the tax discourage you from staying there

Since we're from New york... Ideally, we would stop off at DL for a few days either on the way to or from Aulani.

My guide said that members staying on site do not have to pay parking for up to 2 vehicles on DVC stays. Told me again when we were signing the documents. I really don't think the $3 dollars a day is unreasonable. Every timeshare in Hawaii charges you a accommodation tax so it is not DVC only.
