Aulani Resort fees?!?

how much are the resort fees per day @ Aulani?

Thank you
There are no resort fees at Aulani. For all stays at Aulani, the State of Hawaii imposes a daily transient accommodations tax based on the number of Vacation Points required for the stay. The State requires that the tax be collected from the guest occupying the timeshare and is collected only if the accommodation is used. Thus, the transient accommodation tax cannot be included in the yearly maintenance fee paid by Aulani owners. This same tax applies to all timeshares in the state of Hawaii.

If you have a car and are not a DVC member, there is a daily parking fee, I'm not sure how much that is (maybe $35/day). Internet is free throughout the resort. The slides and tubes are free for guests. Kayaks, paddle boards etc have a reasonable rental charge. BTW, the tax pp mentioned is very reasonable as well. In Feb I paid like $7 for six nights in an Island studio.

The lanais and cabanas, I think are expensive, and at the time I was there were not needed. If you intended a lot of resort time during a busy time they may be worth it.

I'll concur that the Hawaiian daily fee is quite low. I was expecting higher- it was close to the above quoted price. I don't concur that sporting equipment rental is reasonable, quite the opposite- price gouging because they can. Aulani is part of a homeowners association (I never would have thought Disney would get involved with that!) and the bay doesn't allow us of private paddleboards, boogie boards, and the like. That, combined with the antiquated standing-in-long-lines to do anything but sit in a chair, means no Aulani points for us! I was SO ready to buy!

Actually, the transient accommodations tax applies to timeshares, hotels, B&Bs, rental properties (apartments, beach houses, condominiums, etc) for anyone staying less than 180 days. So, it doesn't really matter if you're staying at Aulani or one of the hotels on Waikiki, you still have to pay it.

Only fees that have to be paid are for the Cabanas if you want or to snorkel in their bay. State timeshare taxes are paid for every resort in Hawaii
