When we checked in today, there is an advertisement about Aulani in the Welcome Home folder.

Just want to let everyone know that it says that the price will go up November 1st from $114/ppt to $120/ppt.

That didn't take them long, did it?

I wonder why they are increasing the price so quickly??? maybe the original price was introductory or just a teaser???

They indicated at the July presentations at DL that the $114 was an introductory price and would indeed go to $120 November 1st.

Does anyone have a point chart for the new HI resort? I am concerned that not only will the prices go up but that it will require insane amounts of points to stay one night...

Thanks! Katherine

That's Disney marketing. Raise the price, then offer special, limited time discounts to make buyers feel like they are getting a deal. If sales aren't as forecasted, the price will drop more or additional incentives will be offered. If sales are great, then the discounts and incentives will decrease.

Only time will tell if the same or better offers come down the line. However, considering the popularity of Hawaii as a destination of choice for Japanese and they opened a DVC Aulani Model there, sales might well be brisk.

As I stated above, they were clear from the get go that the $114/pt was an introductory price and come Nov 1st would start at $120/pt.

The same marketing strategy was used at other new resorts as well.

Yes they did. And $114-$10 is less than $120-$12.;)
Again, we won't know until later what was the best offer. Either way, the points will sell.
