I'm hoping some kind folks here can share their knowledge and opinions on Aulani Pool and Ocean views. We are currently booked in a one bedroom, ocean view for our upcoming stay in July. I read something last night saying that ocean view villas can be up as high as the 16th floor. Honestly, staying up that high sort of freaks me out! I am not a big fan of heights and those upper, upper floors just seem to me like they may be REALLY high up!:rotfl: I mean, how does it feel to sit out on a lanai that high up?

Anyway, I am thinking of calling and seeing if PV is still available. I'm assuming PV villas aren't located as high up. Is that correct?

Seeing the ocean isn't my top priority while staying at Aulani, but looking at a parking structure (like so many here have posted) is definitely something I don't want.

What can you tell me about PV vs. OV? Thanks so much!!! :)

I read on here that PV is floors 1-5, and OV is anything above that. I saw some people say that they had a decent ocean view from a fifth floor pool view room (better than some of the ocean view rooms I've seen pictures of, where you have to go all the way out on the balcony before you can catch a glimpse).

So we decided to go with PV. I didn't request a particular floor, since I could see some advantages to being higher (possible view of the ocean) and lower (closer to parking garage/jacuzzi, at least that's how I picture it in my mind). I wanted to be near the elevator regardless because I hate long hallway walks, but DH didn't want to. So I just booked a PV, no special requests. We will just be surprised upon check-in.

Having just returned, the pool view would be perfect! Save points and still have a great view. The pool area is absolutely beautiful. I would say anything above 3rd floor will afford some ocean view.

We have a 5 year old (and only live down the freeway from the property) and booked a pool view. We asked for ground floor, and was placed there, with a sliding door that opened up infront of the kid's water area. My daughter and her friend thought they died and went to heaven. We had a wonderful time, LOVE everything about the place! Childcare @ Auntie's beach house is included...no extra fees! We plan to hve Many "Stay"-cations there.

We're you in a cash room or a villa?

It was a DVC Villa. It was just the studio, but I want to try the one-bedroom soon as well...looks amazing

I went back and forth between the two as well and after reading the reviews I opted for a PV, maybe I'll ask for the 5th floor.

The Ewa Building, which is closest to the lobby, has Pool View Vacation Homes on the 3rd and 4th floors. The Waianae Building, which is to the left when looking at Aulani from the ocean, has Pool View Vacation Homes on the 1st through the 5th floor.
