Hi-- we were at Aulani the week before last (mid-March 2015) and my daughter had the Keiki Wahine experience at the Painted Sky spa. When I was researching this before our trip, I couldn't find much info on it. I finally got these photos to upload to this forum. Here is my daughter (age 4) after the experience , front and back:
This was a Christmas present from her grandparents, and we suggested it because she loved the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Fantasy last fall on her birthday. I figured this would be like the Hawaiian version of BBB.
And it sorta was....the price was $135 (but came to $164 with tax and gratuity) and it included a manicure, pedicure, make-up, dress and hair style with flowers. When we were at the spa on a Thursday afternoon, my daughter was the only one there. She actually fell asleep while her hair was being done because she was so tired, LOL!
When we first walked in, the spa attendant handed us a dress to put on. It was tan with maroon and green flowers. We changed into that and she started her manicure and pedicure. While I was sitting there watching, I noticed the same dress was hanging in different colors and I asked if we could change. The attendant said yes, and my daughter picked out this mostly pink dress, which suited her better.
I think the best part of the package was the hair style! The stylist was a man from France, and he did a fabulous job with braids, flowers and the whole style. I didn't realize it at the time, but you can actually just book part of this package. Everything has an a la carte price, and the sum of all the services was the price of the total Keiki Wahine package. If I were going to do this again with a very young daughter, I'd probably skip the nails and the make-up and just do the hair (and maybe even bring our own Hawaiian dress). The hair part alone would have been just $35 (plus tax and gratuity).
My daughter had a good experience and felt very pampered. I took lots of photos of her around the lobby and outside after her treatment.
I'm working on a trip report, which will include photos inside the Painted Sky spa and in-progress photos.
