Aulani in July advice needed

We are hoping for a 2 BR OV or PV the last week of July at Aulani, booking at 7 months. We will have to borrow points and maybe even use 2 one time use points.
The trouble is, due to job responsibilities of some of our party, our dates are not flexible. The only flexibility we could possibly have is the week before (7/18-25 vs 7/25 - 8/1).
Do I wait until 12/25, 7 months before the ideal week? Try to book on 12/18 for our "second choice" week and then move it (is that even possible with one time use points)? I haven't been tracking availability and we're pretty basic about our DVC point usage, so I've never walked, adjusted, used one time use points, etc.
I figured if anyone could help, it would be this board.

OTU points cannot be used online even in modify mode. They always have to be used by phone. Book all the days you can at online open and call to add a day via OTU because otherwise you are going to have more issues.

You are likely to still need to waitlist those dates in part.

As far as probabilities go, be aware that ocean view 2BRs have typically been available at 7 months out for mid to end of July, and you may also have a decent chance for a pool view.
