We will be at Aulani in late June. I was able to book the GV ocean view for 5 of our 7nts. The first two nights we will book either a 1b or 2b then switch over. Waiting to see what will be available for the first two nights. I was able to get the first night but not the second night in the same category. GV was only available for the last 5 nights which is what we were planning on.

I have taken a look at the views information on the other thread but to be honest it is very confusing to me. One because some of the information is from when the resort wasn't fully open. Two because I guess I am just not getting it. Also some of the photo links are no longer active.

What is the top floor that the GV are located? I know we prefer a higher floor for better views. Are all the grand villas at the end of the resort? Is there one building that is better than the other as far as hotel location / views / location to pool, etc.?

We are four adults and while we will probably spend most of our time at the adult pool I am sure we will want to do the lazy river a few times. Any information everyone can provide to help me better understand the layout and what we should request I will totally appreciate it

Thanks

All of the Aulani Grand Villas are at the end caps of the Ewa and Waianae Buildings. Both end caps go as high as the 11th floor, so that is the highest floor you can get for a Grand Villa in either building.

The Waianae Building's Grand Villas overlook the ocean and the Ka Maka landing, so you'll have a good view of the Infinity Pool and Grotto, as well as the Keike Cove water splash area. By standing near the right edge of the balcony, the Grand Villas also offer a view of the Wailana Adult Pool, and the left edge offers views of Aulani's Waikolohe Valley, which is home to the main pool and Rainbow Reef.

The Ewa Building Grand Villas overlook the ocean and Ama Ama Restaurant. The right edge of the balcony will offer views of Waikolohe Valley; the left edge will offer a glimpse of the Starlit Hui show.

In terms of getting around the resort, there is only a slight difference between having a Grand Villa in the Ewa Building versus a Grand Villa in the Waianae Building. Aulani is a fairly compact resort and the traffic patterns are such that it doesn't take long to get from one spot to another. The slight advantage offered by the Waianae side is that it is a closer to the parking garage.

The Ewa Building has Standard View Grand Villas on floors 2 and 3 and Ocean View Grand Villas on floors 4 through 11. The Standard Views earn their designation because their views are partially obstructed by the roofline of the Ama Ama Restaurant. The Waianae Building has only Ocean View Grand Villas and they are on floors 2 through 11. Villa 201 is considered to be Ocean View, but it is immediately above the Ulu Cafe. Thus, it probably has the least desirable views of any of the Grand Villas.
