Aulani - Grills - Grr

At Aulani now and disappointed with the grills. When we arrived only 3 of 4 grills were working. Tonight went to grill some pineapple and all grills are out of order. Glad we did not buy any meat to grill.

Great question. I have never been able to use the grills anywhere because getting charcol seems like too much of a hassel and I was always worried about the time and if I could not get access becuase they were busy. Upcoming Aulani trip is 9 days so I have more time and no parks.

This sounds a bit odd that all 4 are out of order. A prank? Someone just report it so they slapped an out of order on them? I know DH had to show someone how to use them when we were there.

Have not had a chance to see what issue is, when we first arrived there were only three grills, the fourth grill was completely missing from its location. When BF went to grill last night he said all 3 grills had out of order tags on them. I joked that maybe they ran out of gas. We just returned after being our all day, so no idea if all is ok now.

Went for a walk to check out the grills. Now the grill sign is gone and construction walls surround the area. Checked with front desk and was told that they were broke and were being repaired. Hard to believe all of them in need of repair so on the way back to our room spoke with one of the bellman who stated that there have been issues with people not remembering to turn the grills off and they are trying to come up with solution for automatic turn off for the grills. No idea how long this will take.

But as I sit here at work, looking out at the gray sky, with no leaves on the trees and a portable heater on my feet to keep warm cause my office is right next to the door.. I wish I had your problem

The guests who had been using the grills in recent weeks have been leaving them on without turning the gas off after use, which is why the grills are down. Some safety parts will be needed to make sure no fires occur. That is all. They should be up in a few weeks.

Well that's just great. I am going two weeks from today and planned on using the grill to make dinner.

I noticed this when we stayed at Marriotts - people not turning off the grills. All I could think of was some kid running through and hitting the hot grill. I always turned them off when I saw it. I thought that was why Disney stuck with charcoal.

Are the grills like backyard home grills where you have to turn the knob to off position near the tank?

We have a timer on our gas grill because we forgot to turn it off once.
