I know it is kind of early yet. But I was wondering if anyone has been able to book a Grand Villa at Aulani at 7 months yet? I wonder how many grand Villas they even have. Oh Well, Just Dreaming. :cloud9:

Ultimately it will have 21 GVs. However, if I recall correctly Phase I which is opening end of August has no GVs and I do not know when Phase II will open.

Aulani's Phase 2 is scheduled to open November 15, 2011, which is about 6 weeks earlier than it was originally scheduled to be completed.

Phase 2 will have 11 Grand Villas; one, on the first floor, is classified as a Standard View; the other 10 GVs are classified as Ocean Views. These 11 Grand Villas are located on the endcaps of Building 1 that faces the ocean.

You can read more about the Aulani room locations and configurations at these two threads: http://dvcnews.com/forum/showthread.php?6530-Aulani-Rooms-and-Views-Phase-1-amp-2-UPDATED and http://dvcnews.com/forum/showthread.php?8367-DVCNews-Briefs&highlight=phase

What's the layout of the GV at Aulani? Are they two story like at BLT and VGC or all on the same floor like BWV and AKV?

I just booked a Grand Villa Ocean View at the seven month point last week!! Can't wait for next February and a chance to "escape" the WA snow!:yay:

Found the answer to my own question at DVC News. The GV is all on the same floor like AKV.

Has anyone stayed in the Aulani GV standard view?

The GVs at Aulani are not available yet. The first GVs will be available for reservations beginning with phase II, November 15, 2011. So maybe you need to ask if anyone has a reservation for the single standard view grand villa.

Does anyone know how many grand villas there are with standard view and where they are located?
Also what exactly is their view?
THANKS!

All of the GVs are located on the end caps of the two wings surrounding the Waikolohe Valley where the main pool and lazy river are located. All of the standard views have views of the restaurants (either Ama Ama or Ulu Cafe) on the first floor below with garden areas and probably partially obstructed ocean views. No one has reported what the views are like for the standard views so this is just an educated guess.

Since one standard view GV was removed from rental and turned into the Ulu Cafe, officially there are only 2 standard view GVs. However it's possible that DVC decided to change the GV right above the Ulu Cafe into a GV. We have not been able to get that confirmed though.

You might find more help information at wdrl's thread Aulani Villas & Views.

I imagine it will be very difficult to get a Standard GV at the 7 month mark.

Does any one know if there is a standard view grand villa in the Wailana building. Since the renovation is there only the 2 left on the EWE building?

I'm sure it is way too much to ask, but are there any photos out there of the view from any of the standard view grand villas?

Many Thanks!!!
