Aulani DVC hotel room or Ocean View Studio?

Hi all,

I've been watching the Aulani availability for a while as we were really wanting an ocean view studio, and it seems as though lots of the rooms were getting booked up right at the 7 month window, so I was getting nervous - especially as due to the time difference I am often at work when the booking window opens.

Anyway, this morning I was able to be online dead on time and there wasn't any ocean view rooms available, but there was a standard hotel room!

I've booked it as I just wanted to ensure that we would be at Aulani (our whole vacation is centred around our visit there!), but I wondered whether you thought I should attempt to get the ocean view room (either through waitlisting or as I have the few days flexibility, to try to amend it?)

I believe I am right in saying, that the hotel room will have two queen beds and a fridge, but no microwave - is that right? If so, I'm happy with that aspect, so it's really only whether the view is worth 'spending' an extra 48 points and $360 (as I'd need 24 one time points).

So, do I keep the hotel room or attempt the ocean view?

It is listed as a two queen bed, but I rented points for that category once and got a king bed and pull-out sofa. I don't know if that was a mistake or what but I was glad we got it. Correct that there is a fridge but no microwave. Our view was also of the parking garage. If it's a first time trip for you, the view rooms ESP facing the pool/ocean are amazing!

It is our first time trip, but at the moment the ocean view rooms are getting snapped up by the online reservations, I managed to get the hotel room yesterday (all that was free), but now fear my chances of swapping to an ocean view will be slim as I have to wait the extra hour to ring MS
