That check in line can get pretty long sometimes. I always do online check in via the app. When my room is ready, I'll get a text message on my phone. I park in front of the hotel, drop off my bags and family, then I go self park. I use the Aulani app to open the door to my room. I take my Magic Bands with me and they can be used to open your room door, get your pool wristbands and pay for stuff. I go to the front check in desk at night when the line is nonexistent.
I need to go to the check in desk because my mother in law wants an actual room card. Also, the front desk is where laundry tokens are provided to DVC members staying in studios. They also provide an additional parking pass if you need it. My wife goes to get buttons. What do you need to do at the check-in desk at that point? Seems like everything you need has been taken care of (have not been to Aulani yet so not sure what I'm missing w/r/t check-in).

If the app and magic bands are good for you, you never have to go to the front desk
They just ask you your room number. In a whole week, we never once had to show anything to get our bands. You tell them your room number, they ask your name, and that's that. No worries. You CAN scan the Aulani app, but you don't need to. You don't need magic bands for anything. They're more of a "just if you like them" situation.Thank you all! Do you know if you can use the aulani app to get the pool bands of you don't have magic bands?

Last year I noticed that there's a separate line at the front desk for DVC members. It's right next to the main line. There's a sign at the entrance of the line. Front desk did explain the resort and gave us a map. We've never been to Aulani, first trip will be in March, 2025. So just to confirm, there is a separate check in line for DVC?
Will they spend a few mins providing resort info? We'll likely bring Magic bands, we're so used to them at WDW. We often do online checkin, but since it's our first time, would like to get all the info we can. thanks!
