Planning a trip to Aulani in 2016. We went in 2014 and stayed in a standard hotel room on DVC points (2 adults and 2 children). Next time, we'll be taking my mother in law, so we will need more room. Trying to decide between 2 hotel rooms, 2 studios or a 1 bedroom villa.

I know the standard hotel rooms connect, but I'm wondering if any of the deluxe studios connect to each other? Could we get 2 connecting studios instead of a 1 bed room villa?

the only connecting studios are at the poly in wdw.

everywhere else in the DVC system, studios connect to 1BRs.

Apparently connecting studios at PVAB are not a separate booking category, so it's only a request and not guaranteed, same as it would be with hotel rooms.

DVC does have 6 standard view hotel rooms overlooking the parking lot that might be connecting. I would call Aulani directly and ask. But like chalee94 said DVC studios only connect to a 1 BR even at Aulani.

If you can swing the extra points, I would get the two bedroom. We normally stay in a one bedroom, and 3 adults and 2 kids would not be comfortable to me (but I also like my space). There is one king bed, the sleeper sofa and a trundle bed under the TV. Your mother in law probably wouldn't be comfortable on that, so she would be sharing the sleeper sofa with one of the kiddos. Having the kitchen is a huge bonus with that size of a group, in my opinion, so worth getting the the one bedroom.

The extra space and comfort are worth the extra 100 points it takes for a 2 bedroom vs. 1 bedroom, in my opinion...
