Aulani activities

I just booked our Aulani stay for May! While on the phone with MS she mentioned that I could book activities at 180 days, which is next month. I don't think we will be doing any excursions through Aulani, we will have our own rental car, but we will be doing a few meals and visiting the spa. Is it necessary to book these things so far in advance? If we are flexible with when we want to eat at the onsite restaurants will we have any issues getting in at least once if we wait until we get there? We will be there for 8 nights so we have plenty of time at the resort. TIA.

It depends on the activity....if you are wanting to book a cabana I would be on that right when the reservations open up. (I believe its 60 days for cabanas). For restaurants and such you may have a little more leeway since you are going in May as opposed to a busier time such as Christmas.

We just returned from Aulani a week ago (can I go back, please???) and I would agree with the above.

It was important to us to eat at Ama Ama at a very specific time on a very specific date. We booked it four months in advance.

The character breakfast we booked two months in advance and had quite a many choices. I know that you can only book that one far in advance if you are staying at Aulani so it does not fill super fast, but I would not wait forever if time or day is important.

Also, spa. We booked a couple's massage about three weeks out. We got the day we wanted, but there was not a huge selection in terms of time due to availability.
