Ha! I know it may seem a silly question .. We have booked for 3rd August 14 nights at OKW however in my excitement to return to Disney I did not really stop to consider flight prices. In my wisdom I thought 2 adults 1 child will be approx £1600?!?

Maybe £1600 per person but not for the family!

We now have the option to go in November instead and are looking to go 3/4th November, will cost a few hundred more for hotel but flights will be much cheaper. The downside is it will involve my daughter missing some school (half days only) but I have come to terms with that.

Anyway I digress, my real question is what will November be like? We went end of last August/ early September and it was very hot but tolerable, not many long waits .Will I miss/ gain anything by changing my dates?

We've never been in August and to be quite honest never want to. The latest that we've been there in Nov is the 6th up until then the weather has been lovely, the parks aren't busy and the Christams decs are starting to go up. if it was me I would deinitely change the booking to Nov.

I'm curious as to why it would cost you a few hundred pounds more for the hotel? if you're staying at OKW doesn't the discount run until the 18th Nov?

Good luck with your decision! :goodvibes

Many of us who go in August do so because that's the only time we can go, or at least fit a minimum 2 week holiday in with little school interruption.

The downside as you say is the heat, if you are going to save money by going in November then maybe it's worth doing that, though the weather will be a lot cooler and potentiallly on the chilly side(that would be my only reservation). Hard to predict what the weather will be like in November.

Hi, when I did a quote it was £2048 for August, £2318 for 1st Nov and then £2202 for 3rd or 4th November. Still a good price though....

Thanks for the replies, even though August was so so so hot when I am on holiday I do like some heat and would worry that November would be too cold, would be fab to see Christmas decorations.

I assume your daughter attends the nursery at the school as you mentioned half days? If this is the case then I wouldn't have any hesitation and would book November.
We took our son out of nursery in November 2006 and had no issues at all. It is cheaper for the flights, the weather is still lovely and warm during the day and sweater weather later on. There was no rain and we enjoyed the Food and Wine festival (which usually runs until mid November). The parks weren't as busy but there did seem to be quite a few children from South America on school trips.
We have also done August (due to a family wedding in the US prior to our trip). It was hot but the humidity wasn't as bad as I have experienced before in June. The parks were busy but we just went early and came back to the hotel for a swim or nap when really hot and went out again later. We did have rain during the day but only once (which is unusual).
We now have a similar dilemma for next year. August with no pressure taking DS1 out of school or October a week before and during the half term taking one out of school and the other out of nursery (LEA). My DH is tempted with October due to weather as it a much more pleasant experience.

I have been both in august and novemebr and would opt for november anytime. My daughter was only 4 at the time we went november and we went at the end where temps were still in the high 70's.For crowds and cheaper flights would def go november.Christmas is a lovely time to go especially if you haven't done it before.Again the flights are a lot cheaper in november but to be honest I dont know what has happened this year.We are going for my 40th late september and where as ten days ago they were £1201 they are now today £1700!!! I have found an indirect flight for £1458 with onestop and only 12 hrs going total trip and 10.5 on return so not too bad though always done VA direct. nightmare

Hey

Its summer for me everytime - if i wasn't tied to holidays i would choose May or June - but August it has to be for now.

We visited one year for Halloween, had a great time MNSSHP was the best ever, it was a great temperature to visit the parks in the day

but

It was too cool to swim, particularly in the shade and especially when the sun went down and also it gets dark early and everything closes early - we were in bed by 9 every night.

Nettie xx
