UPDATE 4/13 ***********************

Due to the growing size of our group, I'd love for someone else to step up to run a share. I'll can keep all the info on this board, but due to the size it will be too much work for one person too do. Please, if you've done a share before, remember how much fun this is and it helps everyone out.

**********************

Our list as of now... (4/12). Please pm me your info if you are still interested.

We will be making our first visit to DLR in August (we are WDW veterans). I've used photopass for the past several years and did my first share in September. It ran very smoothly.

Depending on the number interested will then depend on how many groups there will be. I personally like a group of four (five at the most) as it makes it harder to coordinate everyone and get all the photos sorted.

If you'd like to be included in the photopass, please reply with your dates, name and dis id.

The following is from a previous photo pass share I ran.
**********************************************

Here is how a photopass share works:

First thing, the photo share host decides on the travel dates and the amount of people that can participate. The cost for the Disneyland Photopass is $59 (plus tax) and $7 shipping; a nominal charge for the CD's; cases; mailers and postage. This cost is then divided among the number in the group and payment is made by each person with the agreed upon method.

Now for the fun part....
1) When you arrive at the parks (or water park) get a photopass card from a photopass photographer and get your pics taken!!! Get as many taken as you'd like. If you are a family, you may want some of just the kids, some of just mom & dad. Use your imagination as all of these photos will be on the photopass CD. Each photographer will scan your photopass card to add photos to your photopass card id number.

2) When you get home, DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR PICTURES to any Photopass account you have created on the Disney Photopass website, the host will send you the account information and password on you upload / edit day. The photos are no longer sorted by date entered but by date taken, therefore, upload date will not be as important.

3) Edit your pictures on your assigned dates. This is important as only one person can be logged into the account at a time, so please be respectful of each others edit dates. If you need more time, notify the group leader to arrange this.

4) When everyone is done editing, I, the host will order the CD(s). Everyone's pictures will be on this CD. I will then put ALL photos on my hard drive and sort them by 'group/family' so that each person has just their photos on their CD. I will then forward the CD along with the Disney rights to print those. You can then take this CD to any photo place and get your photos printed as you wish because Disney sends a copyright release with the CD. You will only receive your pictures on your CD, I will not be copying the entire CD for everyone.

5) There is no limit to how many pictures you can take. If we have enough pictures to fill more than one CD, Disney will send as many additional CD's as it takes at no extra charge.

IMPORTANT: From the time the first photo is taken on a photopass card you must claim that photo on the Disney photopass website within 30 days. So everybody needs to get their photopass IDs added to the account as soon as possible upon their return. The sooner the better, so that everyone can get their CDs ASAP!

Reminder - here is what you will get

-High-resolution .jpg files of all Disney's PhotoPass photos in your account (photos from multiple accounts cannot be combined onto one CD). Each file is 300 dpi and ideal for creating great looking prints.

-All original images plus copies of any you have edited, including those with added borders and character signatures.

-Copyright release so you can print the images in the sizes and formats you want (for personal use only)

Patricia - thank you soooo much for doing this photopass share! :flower3:

Please add me to the list for the dates of August 8-11.

Bumping again....hopefully we can get more people to share on this photopass to help keep the cost down. :thumbsup2

I'm interested. We'll be at DL from Aug 23-31.

I know it's still early, but even splitting it three ways will make it more affordable. As it gets a little closer I'll ask you to pm me your personal info (name, mailing address, number in party, description of members). From what i've heard recently they aren't sorting the photopass cd's by the date they were entered, more so by the date they were taken (boo) but still workable.

**********************************************

Here is how a photopass share works:

First thing, the photo share host decides on the travel dates and the amount of people that can participate. The cost is determined by adding up the pre-order cost of the CD (99.00) and the agreed upon per person cost for mailers, postage, media and case. This cost is then divided and payment is made by each person with the agreed upon method.

Now for the fun part....
1) Get a photopass card from a photopass photographer when they take your pictures in the parks. Have fun and have lots of photopass photographers take your picture. Each photographer will scan your photopass card to add photos to your photopass card id number. Please try and limit yourself to one photopass card per family to help the host when uploading numbers.

2) When you get home, DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR PICTURES rather than create your own Photopass account on the Disney Photopass website, the host will send you the account information and password on you upload / edit day.

PLEASE ONLY UPLOAD ON YOUR DAY so the photos stay in order even after you edit them or copy them. The edits and copies slide in next to the original.

3) Edit your pictures on your assigned dates.

4) When everyone is done editing, I, the host will order the CD(s). Everyone's pictures will be on this CD. I will make copies for all other people in the group and mail them their copies. You can then take this CD to any photo place and get your photos developed as you wish because Disney sends a copyright release with the CD. You will only receive your pictures on your cd, I will not be copying the entire CD for everyone.

5) There is no limit to how many pictures you can take. If we have enough pictures to fill more than one CD, Disney will send as many additional CD's as it takes at no extra charge.

Here is an example of another groups share pricing based on $99.00 for the pre-ordered CD and an nominal fee for media/mailers/postage.

3 People in our group: $33.00 per person (plus postage, media)
4 People in our group: $24.75 per person (plus postage, media)
5 People in our group: $19.80 per person (plus postage, media)

Unlike WDW, the pre-ordered CD for DLR is more expensive than if you order it post-trip. The CD is only $59 plus tax when ordered after the trip, so we all routinely do that. If you are only having DLR pics on your cd's then this will save you a lot of money. Just wanted to let you know, in case this is new to you. :-) This should help you cut your costs. The $59 price will only show up after you put in your card numbers at the photopass site, so if you check now, it will only give you the $99 price. Hope this helps! :-)

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:Thanks so much!!! I wrote the initial post based on my wdw share I did in September. Thanks for the info, makes it less expensive, even if it's just the three of us right now. :cool1::cool1:

We will be at AKV from August 2nd-7th and would be interested in joining an August (or late July) photopass share. Once groups are put together please let me know.

We're currently going Aug. 18-25 (unless I don't get the job I'm hoping for). This sounds great! Count us in. Can we back out if our dates change?

You're very welcome! :) I'm glad the one at DLR will save you a little money. I'd go in on the share, but we aren't going until October. Have a great trip!

Are you planning a trip to Disneyland or Disney World? AKV (Animal Kingdom Villas?). This is a Disneyland photopass share. If you are doing DL, no problem. If not and doing Disney World, there are photo pass shares on the budget board.

Shouldn't be a problem. When will you know if you'll be going then or not?

Thanks! I know that I'm new and haven't posted much yet, but you can count on me to follow through. My travel time is already set in stone, and I definitely plan on doing photopass and would love the chance to reduce the cost. :D

Sorry Elizabeth, missed your post. We too are 'set in stone' (non refundable airfare, used our developer DVC points) lol. I can't wait for our first trip to DL.

This is the list I've compiled from those that have replied. If you are indeed interested, please pm me your information. If it's just five of us that is fine. I am not sure how much tax CA charges, any of you local that can tell me (on the $59 CD plus $7 shipping, what would the tax be). I want to get a grand total so we can get our group finalized (I know it's months away but I don't want our group to get 'lost' in the boards).

I'm not 100% positive, but I think that the CA tax rate is 8.25%, and I don't think that shipping is taxed.

PM is on it's way. :)

I've updated our list to add our newest member. I'm going to PM each of you and make sure you are 'in'. I would like to close this off at six people (I think one is still unsure if they may have to cancel, so five is still a good number).

Please pm me your info (first post)...
