I'm soooo off track at this point. Work has been beyond crazy and is stressing me to the max, so I'm hitting the vending machine and eating out too much! I just need some small sense of escape or relief, and those are the easy targets...

[QUOTEWOW, I can't believe they took the fence down!!! It was like night and day driving from the navy side to the AF side. I hated admitting that we were Navy.

We actually lived out by Barber's Point when we were there. And funny thing, the apartment next to ours was for sale not to long ago. The kids loved seeing "our house" (same layout).

I miss Anna Millers! It was a real treat eating there on payday. LOL
][/QUOTE]

yah they JUST took it down because the bases combined to now be "joint base pearl harbor/hickam" we like to go over and check out the ships and subs :)

my kids love going over to the barbers point area.. they surf white plains quite a bit. :)

our fav restaurant is big kahunas pizza :) but we have cut it out due to trying to stay on a very TIGHT budget ... going to aulani one night in september, and then going to wdw in jan 2013 and again dec 2013 .. flights off island are not cheap lol!!

Mom: No, not yet! It stills feels so funny coming out of my mouth!

Buffy: Yes, I had a lot of fun! I was there for the annual international convention of the network marketing company I'm with, USANA. It was their 20th anniversary and they gave EVERYONE a free IPad2! It was pandemonium!

I wanted to show everyone the cake I worked on last night. It's based on the Nickelodean show "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

I covered it with fondant and painted the symbols with icing sugar. Took me 3 hours!

The cake is awesome!!! My kids and I are Avatar freaks! I'm a water bender (took a test). LOL

I'm totally jealous of the iPad! I want one. Heck my kids are getting one from school and I don't even have one yet!

*********************************

OK I have a question for you nonspenders. I'm thinking of cutting cable. My bill is $240 a month for phone, internet and cable TV. I want a land line because we still have little kids so I don't feel comfortable not having one in case of emergencies, even though we hardly use it.
Internet is very important and we need high speed for DH's job (works from home a lot). But we don't watch live TV that much. We either DVR, Tivo, or watch iTunes on the Apple TV. I'm sure I could get 90% of what we do watch on iTunes or Hulu. And I have probably 2000 movies between the apple TV's and DVD's.

Any suggestions? Have any of you gone cable free? Regrets?

Finally a $0 day - they kept me running from meeting to meeting so I didn't have a chance to hit the vending machines :rotfl2:

Buffy: If you already have Apple TV, cut the cable. My fiance and I cut the cable cause we never watch "real" TV anymore. We have Netflix and am so glad we switched.

But some companies offer a deal for all 3 to be together, so make sure you're not paying more for the other two just because you're cancelling TV.

And thanks! We love A:TLA and LOK! I wonder which nation I would be...if we were talking about nationality, then Earth Kingdom for sure.

We do have Apple TV, in fact we have 2. One we bought and one was given as a gift for a conference DH attended. We have one in the RV and one in the house.

Again last night the kids watched Doctor Who on iTunes and I was working in my craft room. I don't think we've watched live TV in a month, other than the kids watching a Victorious repeat for the 80th time. We even Tivo'ed the Olympics! LOL

I did discover in doing research yesterday, we can't get Uverse from AT&T, it isn't in our area yet. Bummer!!

I don't know, we need to figure something out.

Well, we leave bright and early Sunday morning our trip...I'm predicting a $0 day tomorrow because I haven't packed a THING yet and that should keep me in the house all day tomorrow! (Hey - we need a packing smilie!!!) I'm normally the type to pack 2 weeks...or 2 months :rotfl2:...in advance, but I just haven't had the energy to get going this time because work has been so unbelievably crazy.

The 21st was a bad day. But after the 15th you got back on track and spent just a buck a day until the 21st.

Hang in there. Pick up a few zero days and then you get to go to Disneyland tomorrow.

Wow, I've been out for a couple of days. Time to catch up!

23rd was a $0 day. 24th, I did my final move-out of my house in my university town. I'm officially fully out! 25th, hung out downtown for the convention and buskerfest with DF so HE paid for everything. 26th was spendy cause I picked up a few items I wanted, and was downtown again to do CN Tower's Edgewalk. Look it up, it's really extreme.

Hooray for exceeding my $0 goal!

Buffy: My DH bought me a talking plush Dalek! I think it's awesome. It says "You are an enemy of the Dalek, you must be destroyed" "Exterminate! Exterminate!" and "You would make a good Dalek." Did you read that in the Dalek voice? Because I did. My sister is kind of creeped out by it cause Daleks make her squirm.

Apparently, I'm a Fire bender, but I'm pretty evenly spread out. I could also be a Water bender. 35% Fire, 25% Earth, 35% Water and 20% Air

OMG, of course I read that in Dalek!! LOL

Last night we were watching Season 6, episode 7 "A Good Man Goes to War" and at the end DS11 says "Is that it?" in a proper British accent. It was so funny!!!

I just took a pic of DS's new Dalek poster, I'll upload it in a sec.

Working on my plan for Sept. Trying to get my ducks in a row.

Today, I bought all the kids lunch tickets for Sept.
Tomorrow I will buy their milk tickets for the month (ran out of cash and need to know exactly how many I need)

DS16 already has his check for the next 6-8 weeks. That will go to school Friday.

I need to finish inventorying my pantry and upstairs fridge, so I can make a menu and a list the month.

I need to order coffee so I can avoid Starbucks.

We're baaaccckk - again :rotfl2: We had fun in Disneyland, although the drive home was way too long (isn't it always?)!! Cars Land rocked and was totally worth the trip. The theming was impecible - even DD12 had to admit it was impressive as soon as she saw it. And Radiator Springs Racers was like Test Track on steroids - DD and I were both hooked immediately!

8/31/12 - $1 Cashews got me again. Serves me right for shopping before eating lunch....

Total for the month: $69.19 [Goal: < $75] I did it! I can't decide if I want to lower my goal for next month or not - it seems ridiculous to be spending this much on what boils down to eating out and junk food. But getting it even this low has taken real dedication....

Wow, I really need to update more! Who's starting the September thread?

I wish I could copy and paste on the iPad app. Then I wouldn't have to wait for some time on a computer to update.

My last couple of days weren't so great. I finally bought myself a new phone! My old HTC Legend was practically unusable. Since I'm only 1 yr in on a 3 yr contract, I picked up a phone for retail. I paid only $150 for a new HTC that runs on Ice Cream Sandwich! Loving it so far.

Ok...just need to remember what I did the last week. I need to do a better job of writing these things down~

Great job everyone!!!

I'm looking forward to getting started today.

We had our last hurrah last night with eating out and Starbucks. No Starbucks for a month is going to be hard but I'm pretty confident that we can do it.

We also decided Tuesday is the day we cut cable (have to plow through the shows we've DVR'ed). We are going to be saving $107 a month!!
We opted to go with the faster speed internet so people can watch TV and DH can work at the same time.
We'll see how no cable goes. :scared:
