We were not planning on having a to Florida this year, but after discussions last night, we may try and have a 7 or 10 day trip in August, if we can find one at the right price.
Prepared to leave until quite late to book but want to start looking into prices now to start preparing.

The flight prices seem very high on their own, whereas the package holidays seem a little better.

Does anyone have any experience as to when last minute holiday bargains start to appear for August. We have been looking at Cosmos and Monarch and they are having some bargains at the moment, but only for holidays a week in advance, not sure I could book it with just a week to go... :cool1:

We are looking at either Sunday 5th August for a week.
Or from Wednesday 8th August for 10 days.
Or from Friday 10th August for a week.

Flying from Manchester (or London if much cheaper).

Stopping anywhere from on site to International Drive..

If anyone finds me a bargain, I will send them some Pixie Dust and a nice present... Not mentioned to kids, as don't want to disappoint if it doesn't come off.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Only ever tried last minute once in August, only availability we could get was with TCD (pre-Virgin) paid more than if we had booked in advance, there were no deals at all that year. Never tried it since. Good luck.

That is what I am thinking Wayne, I am a man who normally books on the day flights/holidays go on sale.. But we were having a year off...
Now having a change of mind...
If you do see any cheap flights knocking about, please let me know... Thanks. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Cosmos/monarch do release last minute as long as you're ok with the very end of August beginning of September.

I'm keeping my eyes open this year too, been watching prices for around three years but always ended up not going. Might just do it this year though!

We too were looking at the 10th August but just could'nt get flight prices we were happy with. Decided to go 10 days later on the 20th for 11 nights and got flights from Gatwick with US Airways for £485 per person.

We've also booked a 4 bed villa on the US27 for £50 per night and a Dodge Caravan for £332 (gold).

All in without spends £2822 for the 4 of us.

We'd been looking daily on most websites for 3-4 weeks before we booked and after taking some regular advice that Wayne gives out - if you see a deal book it - that's what we did.

I do beleive there are deals out there, good luck and hope to manage to get something booked. :)
