August Honeymoon Planning for a frazzled bride to be

My DH2B and I are getting married at WDW on August 15 and we will then be staying for 4 days of park time. Although I've been to WDW 20+ times it's only been for 1 day visits. I have absolutely no idea where to start to decide which park to go to on which day. We are going to need to make our PS's soon and I can't figure out where to go and when. HELP!!!!!!! We are hoping to go mostly to Epcot and MK but want to visit MGM and AK. We will be going to the parks on the evening of the 15, and all day the 16-19. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

I don't know if this will help at all, but here is my honeymoon itinerary for July. Maybe this could give you some ideas. Have you heard of tourguidemike.com? That site has great advice on how to plan your itinerary, and it could help steer you in the right direction.

We will have the premium MYW tickets and have the dining plan. We are staying at POFQ.

Arrive July 24, Sunday: Magic Kingdom. Dinner at CRT. View wishes from castle hopefully.

Monday July 25: MGM in the morning. Blizzard Beach around 2-6. Back to MGM. Eat dinner at Sci-Fi.

Tuesday July 26: Epcot. Leave in afternoon. Go to Downtown Disney. Eat at Cap'n Jacks. Go to PI.

Wedneday July 27: Sleep in. Go to Disney Quest for a couple hours. Go to Typhoon Lagoon. End the day with dinner at Narcoossee's.

Thursday July 28: Magic Kingdom. Dinner at 'Ohanas. Back to MK for Spectro.

Friday July 29: AK for morning. Break. Dinner at Spoodles. Over to Epcot. Hopefully Illuminations cruise.

Saturday July 30: MGM for morning. Break. HDDR at 5:00. Back to MGM for Fantasmic. Hopefully they will show 2 tonight.

Sunday July 31: Magic Kingdom in morning if we feel like it. Go home

I like your agenda robnkris, I just go my Disney Wedding planner DVD in the mail today. My DBF and I are going to watch it tonight. I think the proposal is coming on our next trip to WDW. Not for sure, but he is hinting at it Even if it doesn't, we'll have a magical trip! Good luck with your planning noodle!

I tried to plan our first trip to Disney 2 years ago, and I was hoping for a proposal there. The trip fell through, but I got my proposal 2 years later. I hope you get your disney proposal!

Well, there are several things to consider, especially crowd attendance, your favorite parks and whether DH2B has ever been to WDW.

I would first recommend that you get the unofficial guide to WDW---there's some good advice in there about what parks to see on what days, and with your limited time, the touring plans would be a great help with the August crowds.

That being said, I, personally, would go to the Studios on your first evening because it's the park I like least, and there is less there that I want to do. IIRC, the unofficial guide recommends starting with Epcot, because many feel that's the least "magical" park, then AK, then MGM, and save the MK for last. However, you might also want to not do a park that has am EMH on the day it has EMH. The crowds build very fast on those days.

I second going to the Studios your first evening. Check out the hours and parade times first to see if they gel with your other plans/transportation to the parks...are you staying on-site? Also, do you know for sure where you want some PS's? I always plan my ps's first and then parks because I usually know where I want to eat for sure and have them sorta spread out...I can always change them if I find a glitch with park events/crowds. Don't hit MK on a Sat or EMH days. Other than that, just pick a park and start there! I let my DH pick where he wanted to start on our Disney honeymoon because he had never been there. We went to EPCOT because he thought the "big ball" was the Magic Kingdom and the best of the parks...but we got somethings out of the way there and then found the real MK where we both fell in love with our childhoods again!

Hi! Congratulations on the Wedding! We honeymooned in WDW in August 1996! You will have a great time! I'd actually suggest going to Epcot on your first evening. Future World is usually low on crowds in the later part of the day. You could just take a nice stroll through Future World for a few hours! Have a great trip!

Eat at San Angel Inn in the Mexico pavilion. Very nice atmosphere (and we like the food, altho you'll get plenty of people who disagree!), and honkin' margaritas.

In 2002 my husband and I took our honeymoon to Disney. He planned the whole thing, but it was awesome. We started our time there with Animal Kingdom, then Epcot, MGM, and lastly we went to Magic Kingdom. One suggestion we make to everyone we know doing Disney for a honeymoon is go to Magic Kingdom the last night of your stay and catch the Spectromagic parade and then walk to Main Street turn face the castle and watch the fireworks. It brings your honeymoon to a closure and opens up your new chapter in life. We recommended this to my brother and his wife and they came back and told us that was the best advice.
The only problem we had was not enough down time. It was both our first time at Disney and wanted to get everything in. We are going back this December with our soon to be 2 year old and my husband's mother, father and brother.
