I am wanting to go in August can anyone recommend where to book, I know it is expensive this time of year but would still like to save pounds, i am a family of five 2 adults children 17, 13, 9

been to florida three times and love it.

I am a big fan of the last 2 weeks in August - much quieter in the parks than the rest of the summer school holidays - we booked our flights and Universal Studios accommodation with Travelcity Direct last year and rented DVC points out from a fellow DIS-er for SSR for 5 nights Sunday -Thursday - use much less points. Worked out that it was less for all this than to stay in a value Disney resort on a package deal for 2 weeks with someone like Virgin.

Wherever you're thinking of staying, do compare the difference between packaging your own holiday like this and a 'package holiday'. We have always found TCD cheaper for flight onlys too.

:welcome:

At this stage it may be a case of trudging through all the websites for flights or package from your local airport. If really depends on what you are looking for and for how long. The schedule airlines, the likes of Virgin and BA, will be more flexible with dates (not the norm 7 or 14 nights)and fly into Orlando International whereas the charters, Thomas Cook, TCD etc will usually be set at a certain number of nights and fly into Sanford Airport (a little further north than the other). Then you need to decide whether you want to book accommodation with them or flight only - lots of decisions I'm afraid :confused3 There are lots of websites to choose from for villas/townhomes if you decide on flight only - most will cost less than the average hotel room and give you loads more room :thumbsup2

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Well, I've just been through this process in detail ;)

We have just booked to go back on the 20th of August from Manchester.

We too are renting points from a DVC-er, and staying at Saratoga, Vero and Boardwalk over 14 nights.

TCD were again untouchable in terms of price.

yes there were other flights at around the same price but...

They were indirect
They did not include the car
They did not include pre allocated seats and meals and drinks on board.

We're comfortable with TCD having used them many times in the past, and we got the fly drive for £1600 for the four of us in the end.

We added on 4 14 day WDW tickets to bring the total to £2300 all in

By all means do lots of surfing, i know I did, but TCD again came out the best deal.

Have fun

Craig

If you are able to go from 26th August onwards then on Thursday Disney are offering free dining for dates between 26th August and 22nd September 2007.
You could book your accomodation direct with them and you would need to get a minimum of a 1 day Disney ticket for everyone in your party. Then you would be able to book your flights seperately.

Just a thought.

Are you talking about this year, or next? We've just booked flights for this August and waiting this late has cost us dearly - both in terms of availability and expense. My advice would be to book as early as possible, unless you're willing to wait until right before you go when I suppose there might be some late deals available.

Oh, and welcome to the DIS :goodvibes:
