How awful is cruising in August? We live in FL so we are used to the heat and we avoid being outside much in the afternoons unless in a pool. Is a cruise as miserable as the Disney parks at WDW in August with constant sweat etc. or is it enjoyable since you can be at the pool/ beach when you’re outside? My child’s birthday is in August so considering it but we could do a different time of year.

We also live in Florida and cruised this past August. It was really hot on Castaway Cay, didn't really enjoy that. Otherwise, it's livable - and, we were ok enough with it to book another cruise for next August :).

We have sailed a least a dozen times in August and have had no issues While it is hot of course, I feel it's not as hot at the parks as you have the sea breeze, especially when sailing. Plus you can do a lot inside. On the flip side, I sailed 2 weeks ago and instead of my usual summer routine of sitting by the pool every day, I spent a lot more time inside due to the cold.

We are currently booked for this August again. :thumbsup2

August sailings are much better than August in the parks. I'm local and what @CamColt said above is accurate. The only concern is the possibility of a hurricane. In that case remember that the ship can get out of the way if one arrives, the parks can't.

We’ve sailed a couple of times in August. It was hot and rainy. We sailed in cabin 10658 on the dream for a B2B and it was so hot on the verandah that we hardly used it.
